Let's assume that this is just worrying, and not worrying as the result of a condition like GAD (generalized anxiety disorder!.)

It's easy for us to get sucked into the worry cycle!. We worry!. We assume something will go wrong!. When something does, it proves us right - therefore justifying our desire to worry!. This happens until we no longer have anything to worry about!. But by that time, we're so enmeshed in the cycle that we worry BECAUSE there is nothing to worry about!.

The best technique I've been given has been from a member of my OCD group in Austin!. It's generally used for obsessive thoughts - so it should work quite well on standard worries!.

When something comes up that bothers you, tell yourself that you don't have time for it right now!. Say - You're worried that you will!.!.!.lose your job!. But right now, you've got things to do!. A house to clean!. Kids to watch!. Friends to see!. Whatever!. And worrying about it right now will not do any good because you can't give the worry your FULL attention!.

So you say tonight, from 9:15 to 9:45, I'm going to worry about this!. Then I can really think about how to solve it!. But until then, I'm going to enjoy my day!. And every time it pops up just think - not now!. 9:15!. By the time 9:15 rolls around, you'll most likely have forgotten that you were worrying!. And if not - well, you have half an hour to consider it before your time is up!.

It probably won't work immediately!. But like anything, with practise, you should be able to redirect your thoughts towards more positive things!. No pills required!.

Good luck :)

You can't accept who you are!.!.!.
It is not that you keep worrying, its that you keep
worrying about worrying!. Its a paradox, you're
really fine, and you know it!. For some reason
you cannot accept being fine, perhaps you desire
constant drama to stay in balance!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
