ok i have a best friend that's a cutter, and i am bipolar!. i think she is too!. umm, she's alot worse but when i get into a mood that i just can't possibly escape, like an argument with my husband that won't end,!. then i bite the side of my hand at the thumb knuckle!. i make marks but never drew blood!. if i were to explain why i'd have to say when you have so much pain inside and you feel like your body can't handle it you try to find a way to drown it out!. so when i bite my hand it's like causing a different pain, it doesn't hurt as bad but distracts from the other pain, sort of balancing them out!. i also have a chronic type of spinal arthritis and no medical care, so when my spine is in so much pain that ijust wish i could die, i bite my hand!. yea my hand hurts but that sort of pain is nothing, and i can deal with it, it distracts from the pain in my spine and relaxes me a bit!. i've never been able to cut myself for real, but i know what they go thru and basically why they do it!. it's just a way to balance out or release your inner pain!. as far as lies, alot of these people aren't crazy, they just deal with things differently than other people!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm led to believe that by cutting yourself it stops the pain that you feel, everyday!. Where the average person deals with it for example crying, seeing a Dr or a councillor etcWww@Answer-Health@Com

Stereotypes:
Cutters are doing it for attention!.

Cutters should just kill themselves already!.

Cutters are emo!.

Emos are cutters!.

(All people suffering from all mental disorders) are manipulative!.

Any relationship problems are because the person with a mental disorder is selfish, manipulative, attention-seeking and completely ****** up, they have nothing to do with the attitude and behaviour of the other person: mental illnesses null the rule that any interaction is influenced by both parties involved!.

People with mental disorders are not proper adults; thus it is ok to treat them like children!.

cutters cut because they lack the ability to show emotion mostly affection, they do it to not think about their mental pain!. a lot of people also are bipolar, or have personality disorder, I work with a population with low IQ and bipolar, schizophrenia, many disorders!. Some people are just wired differently and some developer these disorders due to abuse by someone that was taking care of them or around them, emotional abuse can cause mental illness!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
