Milk thicken mucous!. When you're already having problems with that, avoid dairy!. If you can keep anything down you can try calcium pills!. Or at least wait til you start feeling better, and don't rush right back into dairy!.

"Drinking any dairy product like yogurt, ice cream, or milk, will cause your voice to sound muffled because consuming dairy products increases mucus production!." http://www!.answerbag!.com/q_view/7367

"Phlegm is the thick, sticky mucus that drips down the back of your throat when you have a cold!. Although drinking milk may make phlegm thicker and more irritating to your throat than it would normally be, milk doesn't cause your body to make more phlegm!. Frozen dairy products are an easy way to soothe a sore throat and provide calories to an ill child who otherwise may not eat!." http://www!.mayoclinic!.com/health/phlegm/!.!.!.

The second source is probably more reliable!. Milk thicken mucous, not creates more!. Either way, dairy isn't a good idea when you already have a lot of phlegm!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
