I've got to agree with the others!. Bipolar disorder is a serious illness that requires medical treatment, in addition to therapy and healthy lifestyle choices!. Taking medication properly and consistently is really the core of controlling the illness!.!.!.and that is step one in dealing with the depressive episodes for me!.

Foods rich in Omega-3 (or supplements of Omega-3) have shown very promising signs in helping people with mood disorders!. They don't replace the need for meds though!.
Exercise is helpful!.!.!.spending a little time in the sunlight each day can be!.!.!. journaling and spending time with pets (assuming, of course, you like them) can be therapuetic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

how bout!.!.!.you take medication!.
food won't help you with bipolar disorder!.
that's a VERY serious disorder!.!.!.that needs to be controlled
by a mood stabilizer!.

so go get help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well im Bipolar as well and its easier to stay sick than get to get better my best advice would be exercise!. Working out atleast 30 min a day helps out soo much!. Try to stay away from sweets and alchool!. Try to write down daily food intake and compare moods and what kind and what time you are eating !. In the end all you have is yourself so help yourself and find creative ways to stop getting in a depressive rut!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am bi-polar and on disability for it!. It is a very serious chemical imbalance that should be treated by a psychiatrist!. The best way to deal with the cycle is to limit the highs and lows with medication!. There is no way to control this disease by yourself!. Get help from a medical professional!. Like many chronic diseases like diabetes or heart disease you have to stay on top of it and follow medical advise and take your meds as prescribed and talk to your doctor about your symptoms and a good quality of life can be achieved!. Of course you feel better when you eat well and exercise normally but these are things a depressed person by definition cannot do!. If you can change your mood with good meal and a walk you are not clinically depressed, just a little blue!. Regardless of your health or diagnosis, just taking everything one day at a time is always a sure bet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sometimes the meds don't help!. Hang in there its something you have to learn to leave with!. I ask HEAD doctor ever time I go!. He just says I will have more bad days than good!. Boy all that money I pay and thats all he has to say and keep taking meds!. They don't work like I want them to but it is better than nothing I guess!. GOOD LUCKWww@Answer-Health@Com
