Question: My son is on Lamictal and the doctor gave him a package to take!?!?!?
Whereas you take 25 mg!. then go up to 50 mg and then 100mg!. Everything was fine when he was on the 25 mg!. After taking 50 mg!. for a few days, he got very tired!. So he went back to 25mg!. MY QUESTION IS: What will happen if he only takes 25 mg!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It might prove ineffective!. It's really a question for your perscribing doctor!. Sometimes you need a switch in meds as he shouldn't be experiencing extreme fatigue (Lamictal actually works the opposite - keep you awake)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

He should take the recommended dosage and tiredness is just a side effect!. When I was put on Lamictal I went through the same thing!. It's a ticky medication but it did help!. If he only takes 25 mgs he probably wont get the effect it's sappose to give!. He'll get use to it and it wont help very much!. You should talk to the doctor about it when you can!. Maybe another medication should be tried!. If he's bi-polar he could try Lexapro, Prozac, or Topamax!. There's tons of meds for it!. Which is what lamictal is usually used for!. If you would like to talk more!.!.!.!.AIM is SomethingReal08 or yahho me!. Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

you really should follow the directions on the dosage!. getting tired can just be a temporary side-effect!. it happened to me when i started it!.

the big risk on lamictal is liver problems!. if your son gets a rash on the abdomen, go to a doctor ASAP and stop taking it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The dosage may not be enough to provide desired results!. I'm on 300 mg a day and have been for years!. Is he taking it at night!? I take mine close to bedtime!. I'm often fatigued in the afternoon and take a 2 hour nap whenever it's feasible to do so!. The fatigue should lessen for him after a while!. It's a great drug with minimal side effects!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
