Question: Please help me!?!?!? Ideas how I can stop this disease!!!?
First of all please no rude comments!. It's already hard enough dealing with this!.!.!. I need support and lack it!.!.

I was anorexic for three years!.!.!. 15-18!. Suddenly after taking medication and getting a couple sessions of therapy I thought I was "cured"!. But when the weight started piling on and I had a heartier appetite!.!.!. I began to freak out!. Since then (age 18) I CANNOT stop binging and purging or exercising whatever I consumed!. I've also done the whole chew and spit thing!.!.!.

I am so freaked out and have no control over my life!. Whenever we go out drinking I always drink too much to "forget" my problems, and I!.!.!. I have no idea what to do!. I DON'T want to live like this!. So any rude comments please find another question to answer!.

Please, any people out there have ideas how I can stop!? It's ruining my life!. I've turned down offers to go out with friends, I've forced myself to stop drinking, I freak when I can't exercise it off, and I spit and chew in my room almost everyday!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i KNOW it can be hard to EAT!. I've always been a poor eater!.
I simply don't find physical pleasure in eating!. My mind would rather do or think about something else!.

I sense that you need stimulation in your life!.!.!.excitement!.
Sometimes, we create drama in our lives to make it more interesting, other times, we are so stuck with one way of thinking, that it's hard for us to think outside of ourselves or outside the box!. Bottomline: <<Your brain has to get used to eating without thinking negative/giving in to bad thoughts!.>>

Here are my suggestions:

The first is to listen to your favorite music and eat SLOWLY!.
The first week it's going to be tough - when you are tempted to spit your food just tell yourself "I know I don't enjoy eating and swallowing food, but I'm DOING IT RIGHT NOW!. YES I AM" Every time you feel like getting rid of the food clear your throaght, tell your self no, and force your mouth muscles to chew the food WELL (it works best if you have a distraction like music or a TV show!!) take a DEEP breath and swallow!. After you swallow, hum a part of the song that you like of make a comment about your surroundings!. It also helps to literally "make fun" of eating by eating with anger (chewing fiercely and exagerated) or eating in a goofy manner!. Remember to BLock those nasty thoughts, take deep breaths, and make the experience more comfortable!.

As for continuing to eat, watch your diet, and excersice NOT too much!. Tell yourself "NO, it's just a thought, NO it's just a bad idea running through my head!." Watch a movie or call a friend instead - find fun things to do (not drink - yea it' GONNA BE hard)

Maybe you could also snack all day instead of eating 3 meals per day!?!? Maybe you could pray (I pray all the time)!.
Maybe you could rub your belly while you chew or put you palms to your cheeks while you chew - you could even slap your cheek (not violently) when you get a bad thought!.!.!.
: ) you could also try eating while jumping on a small tampoline :) Goofy, but could be fun!

Also Don't Forget to REWARD yourself in a healthy way!!!
Read testimonials about others suffering with eating diorders, buy your favorite magazine, and surf the net for more inspiration!.

Tell your friends that you are trying to overcome yourself when it cames to eating and ask them at what wheight you look the best, so that you can stay at THAT number (wheight)
without going overboard (loosing too much)!.

I am in the EXACT same boat as you!. I am so sorry, I know this TOTALLY SUCKS>>>> i can't even express it in words!. I want it to all stop!. Have you ever been to an eating disorder recovery support group !.!.!. or possibly even an email support group (I have found it very helpful for me in dealing with my psych issues)!? It really helps me to feel less isolated and able to connect with other people that really do get it!. I think with ED's you would want to make sure that the group focus is on recovery!.

I would strongly suggest looking for a therapist that specializes in eating disorders!. There is help out there!.!.!. NAMI, NIH, and Mayo clinic are all reputable websites where you can get more information on treatments!.
