9 Months of workplace hell.......?!

Question: 9 Months of workplace hell!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!?
I did a residential apprenticeship for 10 months for a major company, i got bullied there and experienced a really tough time!. I cried out for help but nothing was offered and the vullies just got off lightly!. Now, after finishing the residential year, i find that ive got lasting effects from the bullying, ive been diagnosed by my doctor with serious depression, i cant go to work or sometimes i cant even get out of bed!. I feel like everyone is making fun of me, and am at an all time low!.
Is there anyway i could "punish" the company and make a higher person/organisation aware of the bullying i incurred!?
Thanks

BTW im 18 now and was 17 at the timeWww@Answer-Health@Com

If you are from the UK and you end up having to leave the company due to the bullying and resultant depression, you can commence proceedings for constructive dismissal!. You have to have worked for a company for at least ONE year before you can pursue this course of action!.

What constructive dismissal essentially means is that the company/person/organisation has made your life so intolerable that you have been left with no other choice but to RESIGN and that any other reasonable perosn would have had to do the same thing under the same circumstances!.

If you are from the UK and decide to pursue this course, you need to have WELL DOCUMENTED PROOF that the depression was caused by your company - so seeing a counsellor [through your doctor] and also ensuring that your doctor documents this, is very important!. You will also need to bring this bullying and the fact that it has caused you to become ill to your line manager and or head of dept!. even if they choose not to act on this information at least you will have documented that you tried to resolve the problem in-house beforehand!. Keep all written correspondence of letters sent to heads of departments and if you have to attend any meetings to discuss your problems ensure that you have a third party with you!!!

Finally most Law Centres within the UK deal with employment law issues!. See the website link!. They will be considerably cheaper than going to a solictors' firm [they do have solicitors in house and employment law specialists] - you mayeven be entitled to legal aid assistance if your income is low! You can also phone them up for free advice!!!! Forget the Citizrns Advice Bureau they really are not specialists in this area!. I used to work for a law centre and we took on lots of employment law cases involving issues similar to your own!. If you decide that you do not want to resign but want to stick it out!. still contact the law centre nearest to you for advice!.

BTW There are as yet no anti-bullying laws inplace inthe Uk - the only thing employers are generally left with is pursuing actions for: sex dsicrimination, disability discrimination, racial discrimination, constructive dismissal or perhaps negligence [this is a hard one as you have to be able toporve that your depression was caused by the company's negligence and courts generally do not like paying out in negligence cases for psychiatric harm]!.

Get your doctor to refer you to either a counsellor or clinical psychologist for the depression!. Then you can get the help you need and also tell the therapists what has been going on for you at work!. The more proof the better for any future case!. You'd have to keep up the continuity with the counsellor though and not just see them for 3 or 4 sessions of your company could say that your depression is mild and that you did not need that much counselling for it!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Find yourself a good lawyer and a good doctor!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

get a lawyer and take them to court!. I am sure they can financially compensate for your pain and suffering!. Legal advice would be in your best interest!. i am sorry you had to go through that :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should check with your local citizen advice bureau!. I'm sure there's something that you can do to get compensation at least (I know that won't help you get rid of your depression but it's making them pay)!. Give it a try!. Best of luck!.
(Maybe also you need to apply for work somewhere else if possible)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Talk to someone that you can trust at your work and see if there is anyone within your job you can go to in a higher position that will listen to what is really going on in the work place!. This is just wrong!. Something should be done about it!. No one should EVER be treated this way!Www@Answer-Health@Com

U could go to the citizens advice bereau for advice!.There may not be anything u can do compensation wise or reprimand wise as uv left the company now but C!.A!.B may be able to point u in the right direction to make a proper formal complaint to someone higher up so it doesnt happen to anyone else!.Also u could make a proper complaint to the training organisation that sent u there!.If nothing else a proper complaint & investigation wil cause trouble for the people that did this to u & ul therefor hav the satisfaction of knowing uv put a crimp in a number of there days!.Also if u did that it would go on the people involveds employment record which would also giv them some trouble & giv u satisfaction that way!.Theres no harm in enquiring!.Training organisations usualy have proper complaints procedures that they have to follow!.
R u getting proper treatment for ur depression now aswel!.Ul probably need counselling aswel as medication!.Go & see ur doctor if u havent already & get them to refer u to a counsellor or psychologist/psychiatrist!.Talking to someone & working through ur feelings wil help u move on with ur life better than just taking anti depressants!.Dont let this bad experience spoil ur life anymore than it has already!.Get some proper medical help & counselling so u can move forward!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

go to your local community law centre if you dont have the money, and if you do, get a good lawyer to make a claim against the company!.

Dont try this by yourself unless your very sure of what you are doing and are a trained law specialist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I;m sorry to hear about your depression, Please see your local citizen advice centre,Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to get a letter from your dr as a cause and reason you are suffering this!.
Do you know if anyone else there was bullied the same way by those same people!.!?
Then you need to take it to the lawyers, to find out if this can go anywhere!. Then see a dr to find out if you can take anything to lift you out of this pit of depression!.
I understand the bullying that happens in places and feeling so alone or isolated because people dont want to listen or pay attention !. Unless this effects them and their own life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
