Answers:
I don't think it's sleep paralysis!. I think it has more to do with the fact that you were probably deep in sleep when your brother came into your room, and since you were in REM sleep, you awakened and were startled!. You may have been sleep-walking (or sleep-running), but it's not sleep paralysis!.

If it had been sleep paralysis, you would not have been able to move, not out of the bed, not even open your eyes!. I have had this, and it's very scary, but nothing to be overly concerned about!. I learned how to make myself wake up when this happens by shouting!. Granted, my shouts usually come out sounding like whispers, but it's enough to wake myself up!.

You are stressed; you need some good sleep, that's probably all that is wrong here!. I am sure your brother meant no harm, but you need uninterrupted sleep, and nobody ought to be coming into your room while you are asleep, that is, if you do not want this to occur again!.

I hope you do well on your tests and have sweet dreams from here on out!Www@Answer-Health@Com

What you experienced is actually a form of sleep walking!. It is called "night terrors"!. It is possible your stress brought it on but usually it begins in childhood and decreases in episodes after puberty!. Occasionally it lasts throughout a persons life!.

Talk to your family doctor about it!. If yours is caused by anxiety, perhaps a prescription will reduce your stress!. BTW is your brother okay!? this had to freak him out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well I can tell you that this is most likely not sleep paralysis!. I had sleep paralysis for about 4 months last summer!. I would wake up in the middle of the night, eyes wide open, but could not move!. I could see and hear everything around me, but couldn't move a muscle!. I would go to scream and nothing would come out!. I would say it probably is just the stress of your upcoming exams!. Stress can really screw up your sleeping patterns!. Maybe you were just sleep wakling and remember bits of it!. If this continues to happen you should maybe look into going to a sleep clinic!. Best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is probably "night terrors"!. Speak to your doctor about this, & if necessary get some counseling!. I realize you don't want this kind of suggestion, but if you ask the question, you're going to get honest answers, & I'm sorry if that upsets you!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
