Wild Mood Swings & Abusive with husband?!

Question: Wild Mood Swings & Abusive with husband!?
Once a month, I get a violent episode of mood swing where I actually will resort to hurting my husband!. I'm a real sweetheart the entire month but one day a month the day my period is due I get some psychotic episode that flicks on like a switch!. It's over with in 20 mins but the aftermath and feeling like a pc of shiit (as so I should) have got me questioning whether I should go on a mood stabilizer (like anxiety/depression meds)!.

My husband thinks I shouldn't go on meds for the one day that I lash out but I really fear I'll hurt someone eventually and get hauled away!.

I'd like some serious advice not some lame crap that has you lashing out and sounding like an idiot!.

Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are to be commended for not only 'recognizing' your mood swings but accepting responsibility to do something about it!.!.!.GOOD for YOU! Having already taken the first steps toward resolve is often times the most difficult, you are at least headed in the right direction!. Such behavior may be triggered by hormones [obviously since you pointed out specific relation to your time of the month], which should be addressed by a physician!. Women experience various mood swings due to hormonal fluctuations & there is nothing wrong with admitting it! Good for you & your marriage!.!.!.your willingness to seek help is a huge factor in finding resolve!. I do suggest you contact your GYN & make an appointment!.!.!.take this opportunity to 'discuss' your concern & be 'honest' with the specifics of your situation!. Your doctor will be able to perscribe something that may be very beneficial to your 'specific' situation!. As far as taking something 'just for the day' you have flare ups, as you mentioned, THAT is not going to happen!. Any chemical fluctuations that occur within the body need to be addressed over a gradual period of 'gently' adjusting!. The mindset of taking a 'pill' for instant results is a distorted view & far from appropriate!. Although medications are not to be the 'only' alternative toward resolve; you should also consider trying some behavioral modification [even if it be on your own] by trying Yoga or Biofeedback, doing so will benefit you in the longrun!. I say this because one should realize that 'being in control' of our own body is the most powerful position to be in! You need to be able to maintain self-control for numerous reasons without relying upon medication only!. Controlling ones behavior in various situations is an invaluable asset; you need this in the work environment, public avenues, child rearing as well as all personal relationships!.!.!.so keep this in mind! I wish you strength in your choice to find resolve~ Take care!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say that you need to talk to someone, You could really be having a chemical imbalance!.!.!. maybe a mood stabilizer would would for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is PMS, not PMT (Premenstrual Syndrome vs Premenstrual tension)!.!.!.and it's a condition!. I advise you to talk to an expert about it for advice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it's one day a month, then maybe you should!. (just for your husband to be on the safe side) (no offense)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try talking to your doctor about yaz, in helped me out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Make sure you tell your GYN about this ,theyre is some meds for this and the DR!. may check your hormone levels!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ask your doc for some pm dd meds that you only take the week before and maybe on your cycle!. Helps!. I suffer from pm dd!. My husband can tell me down to the day that I'm going to start!. Over the counter med that is good is premisyn or something like that, pink bottle!. Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

You need to see a Nutritionist or specialist, it sounds like your hormones are unbalanced!. However the downside is meds are not good long term!.

I would suggest you look at your diet and take pure organic cod liver oil or organic coconut cream!. there is a lot of self help remedies out there for this kind of thing!.

You really need it looked at now because once the menopause arrives, you really will murder someone!!

google: Weston a price foundation - menstrual cycle

they have a lot of advice on these sort of things!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

have you spoken to a doctor about this!? I have heard stories before of women with really bad PMS that is affecting their lives!.
I really think a doctor would be your best bet, as they know all about this and which medications you could try!. It sounds like an anti depressant might work well but, it seems a shame that you would have to be on them every day when you only have one bad day a month!.
You could also speak to a naturopath or homeopath!. My son saw a homeopath for anger issues and he was given a mixture of natural ingredients and had 3 drops a day!. It was unbelievable how well it worked!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Speak to a nurse, they might be able to help!.
I would advise you start taking evening primrose capsules at least in the week leading to your period!. It promotes natural hormone levels!.
Good luck hope this helps xxxWww@Answer-Health@Com

If you know roughly when it's going to happen maybe you can get meds for that short period of time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like major PMS!.

The best medication for hat is fluoxetine (Prozac)!.

It works so well for this excat symptom, the FDA allowed the maker to use the exact same medication and call it "Sarafem!."

If you know when the symptoms are about to start, you can actually use it "as needed!."

That is, star the medicine 3 days before your menstrual period and stop it after the period begins!.

Prozac is very safe (it is the single most tested medication ever)!.

It received a lot of bad press (as ALL major medications do)!.

But the point is, when MILLIONS of people use anything - there will be some folks with side effects!. That is true for automobiles - in fact - there are no medications as dangerous as driving a car 10 miles a day!.

Also, exercise 30 minutes (moderate at least - such as biking)!.

That will greatly decrease the emotional and physical adverse symptoms of your hormonal state during your periods!.

Thanks for trying to be a better wife - your husband is blessed to have a wife who is honest and wants to improve!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you should stop making up excuses for wanted to start crap with your man!.!.!. and if its really not an excuse, see a Dr!. Those "mood swings" and "lashing out" are controllable!. If they weren't I think you'd do it longer and more often!. I'm not a professional, but I don't have a problem voicing my opinion!. See someone professional for advice!. You should feel bad, because no one deserves to be treated that way so, do what you need to make things better, with either counseling or leave your man!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Because of the fact that it is menstral related does not in and of itself rule out the possibility of say bipolar disorder!. I would need more fact, however, like did you recently give birth, how long has this been happening, etc!. I agree with your husband that I wouldnt want to take medication unnecessarily!. Does your, lets say 20-minute, indiscretions always last 20 minutes!. Did they start out as 10 minutes and gradually increase!.

You are obviously concerned enough about this condition to seek advice so I would suggest you look up on line the mood disorders to see if you could possibly have one!. Google bipolar disorder and take the five minute test!. They will show you a list of symptoms!. If you just gave birth, maybe you are experiencing post pard!. depression and you are lashing out, or maybe its just that time of the month irratability!. In any event, if you cant get satisfaction for information on the internet, I would seek professional help!. Best of luck to you!. I wish you the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is a very real syndrome and you can take a medication to even things out for you!. Your Gyn!. can prescribe hormones like Yaz, and sometimes something less serious like Vitamin B6 can help!.

It's recommended that you keep a symptom diary for a few months, noting how you feel each day of the month!. This is extremely helpful for your Gyn or Dr!. so that they can see the pattern and intensity of things!.

Until you get help with it, knowing that the day of your period is a crazy day, maybe give your husband an overnight pass to play poker with the guys for 48 hours away from the house!

Good luck with this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think that 99% of women go through this eventually in life!. sounds like your frustrated with something, might not even have anything to do w/ your husband!. its always easier to take built up emotions and reflect them on to the ppl closest to us!.!.!. its called displacement (example: husband has a bad day at work, comes home yells at wife for dinner being late, wife yells at son for bad grades, son kicks the family dog)!.
i dont think meds are the answer b/c that wont help you cope with what the real issue is!.
honestly, therapy might help!. by talking to a specialist, they can figure out what the real issue is!. once that is realized, then they help you cope/deal with it in a healthier way!.
best of luck to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
