Answers:
I see clients on an outpatient basis for issues involving their families, work, friends, children and anything else involving relationships!.
I have a masters' degree in psychology, a license to practice in my state that required 3000 hours of internship as well as 36 units of continuing education every 2 years!.
I have been in this career for 25 years!.
I have had many difficult cases over time!. Some of the most difficult are couples who are on the edge of divorce and are not being truthful with one another!. I also find cases that involve adolescent acting out behaviors can be problematic!. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral and solution focused treatment!.
My day to day responsibilities involve seeing clients, keeping correct records and notes, billing insurance and managed care companies, handling crisis calls and arranging for my clients' referrals and needs!. Lots of telephone and writing work as well as computer research!.
I am paid somewhere between $60-120 per hour for seeing clients!. Nothing for paperwork time or phone calls unless excessive!.
I am very satisfied with my career path as it has so many angles to explore, varies day to day, is never predictable, and helps people feel better!.
I choose the career path at a time when my parents had just died, my kids were all in school, I was tired of teaching and I moved to a new city!. I found a school that worked with my schedule and I saw a new challenge!. It was worth it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you would need someone from your area/region!. every state has different laws in regards to mental health treatment and resources that are available!. it would be a great opportunity to locate the nearest county/regional mental health building!. stop in and introduce yourself!. present the issue or assignment, asking for advice and assistance!.

I can answer those questions but it pertains to my area and hospitals-which may not make much sense to your psych instructor!. mental health professional is very vague, are you interested in a doctor!? counselor!? therapist!? social worker!? nurse!? mental health tech, etc!.!.!.!?!?!? outpatient versus inpatient settings-these are good things to think about while you create your interview!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think most mental health professionals are probably pretty burned out by the time they get home at night!. Maybe the last thing they want to do is answer questions!.
I hope you will find someone that still has enough energy for your questions!. It is a very draining job!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
