How do you know if thoughts you're having should be categorized as "obs!

Question: How do you know if thoughts you're having should be categorized as "obsessive"!?
I'm Bipolar, and I've been having the same thoughts over and over again about a man!. Please note: this man & I liked each other, but life has separated us!. I no longer see him, but still feel for him!. No, they're not hurtful or destructive thoughts; but they are hurtful to me because I can't stop thinking about him!. Please let me know where the line is between daydreaming all the time (which I do), and obsessive thoughts!. Thank you very much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When they disrupt your life would be an obvious sign!. I have bipolar and see a therapist because, well, she comes in handy and therapy and meds are the best way to manage the illness!. Run it by your therapist!. If you're not seeing one, get one!. It's not like we need to see them all the time, just when we need them!. The other thing I always ask myself when something starts running thru my head too much is whether it's a sign that I'm going hypomanic cuz I get OCDish when mixed or manic!. Thinking about a man you were once involved with, though, is pretty natural, so even I would be slow to go there on that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the thoughts are interputing your daily functioning they are obsessive!.!.if you see a therapist for your illness of course you kow to talk with them about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
