Answers:
A 2007 study of studies published in the Lancet concluded that cannabis users are 40% more likely to be sufferers of a psychotic illness than non-users!. In comparison, alcohol, as the only intoxicating drug with similar levels of popularity, has been linked to more than 65% of all suicides in a UK study, and linked to general psychiatric mental health problems including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, psychosis, psychoneurosis, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, physical brain damage and more!. That is not to suggest that alcohol can cause schizophrenia, and if it were to cause temporary psychosis, it would be ameliorated after cessation of its consumption!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well if your uncle had schizophrenia you might be at risk for developing schizoid personality disorder!.

There have been studies carried out (can't say right now which ones) that do point to cannabis being a factor leading to mental deterioration in later life!. However, it varies with every person!.

I know someone with schizophrenia!. She has auditory hallucinations!. If you hear someone (or more than one person) talking to you, threatening you or whatever then that's probably schizophrenia!. Also, you might have visual hallucinations but that's very rare!. It only happens to a few people!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, I thought it wasn't so bad at first, I mean everybody does it right!? No big deal!? Actually, 1 doobie equals as much damage as 5 cigarettes to your lungs, and out of a bong is worse, because of the screen breakdown that damages your lungs as well!. As for schizophrenia, I am not sure that it would cause it, although it does have severly adverse effects n your memory, and ability to learn!. Because of the toxins being in your body for 72 hours after you smoke it, if you smoke it more than once every 72 hours which most people do, it just builds up, and little poison sacs form around your brain!. Its hard to believe because many generations were raised thinking it was harmless, but now one should know better, not so much!. If you insist on using it, definitely cut down to AT LEAST only once every 72 hours!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh yeah, it sure can especially with all this hydroponics around now - no-one knows the long term effects of hydro & there are alot of fertilisers etc used in hydro!. I smoked for about 10mths when I was 17yrs & it use to make me a bit paranoid but mainly that people could tell that I was stoned!. Now though I see so many people & I can tell straight away if they haven't had a smoke yet as they get so agro from not getting hydro when the stuff I did smoke was ordinary home grown!. I've seen a lot of my friends end up schizophenic or with anger/pyschotic problems!. It never use bother me that people smoked pot or not but now it seems too many people are angry on it instead of hippie happy with munchies!. You don't really see many people get munchies anymore unless its their first time whereas on home grown you always got munchies!. IF you really want to smoke try to get homegrown if possible & I've found a lot of people ARE turning back to it WHEN they can get it!. Also you already have bipolar so it would be more likely for you to get either of these things especially the schizophrenia as it makes you paranoid thats one of the early signs, plus anger, laziness, tiredness and more!. It does ruin ur life altho a lot of people would disagree but that's because they're smokers themselves!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Studies have shown that schizophrenia occurs to those with a genetic propensity to it after certain things occur to them, such as traumatic events, taking drugs, stressful conditions, etc!. So, smoking will increase one's risk for developing schizophrenia!. In absolutely everyone, it damages and eventually ruins the hippocampus, a portion of the brain needed to form new memories and understand directions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My friend, These things come from evil spirits not smoking pot!. Evil spirits are plenty in America and must be dealt with or it created many mental problems!. In the bible the blind and dumb that could not speak or see was bound by evil spirits!. Once the spirits was cast out they could see and speak!. It is many times recorded in the world to be the truth outside the bible as well!. Jesus cast out all your devils now!. You are free!. Be free in faith!. Know in the name of Jesus Christ all devils must go!. Agree with me in faith!. Short of faith!?
act as though you had faith and faith will come to you>Www@Answer-Health@Com

there's more to living than a buzz!.!.!.!.!.!.!.go to school, become a doctor/scientist and discover the workings of schizophrenia and help thousands that suffer the illness!.!.!.!.!.i know someone in the kids family who would love to have her husband's fight with schizophrenia become a 'won' battleWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hypnotics, such as marijuana should be absolutely avoided by anyone with, or with a predisposition towards (family history of) schizophrenia, or other schizophreniform disorders!. This also includes people with bipolar disorder type 1, with hallucinations, or serious delusional states!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

smoking won't cause you to become mentally ill!. But, as long as you know you have bi-polar you should be on medication for it!. Smoking pot works in oppisition to that medication, it's a depressant!.
you really need to cut back and quit smoking!. best of luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

You really shouldn't be smoking!. It might trigger an episode!. As a fellow smoker who quit, it smoking isn't good for some people!. If things are weighing on your mind smoking will trigger it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, not at all, people say that but they lie, weed doesnt put anything in your body that is not already there, mentally wise, hallucinogens however can give you those issuesWww@Answer-Health@Com

Cannabis can increase the rate at which the symptoms of Schizophrenia reveal themselves, but it doesn't cause it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The psychotic problems would have to exist for them to manifest at all!. Weed doesn't cause it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think it can be beneficial in some cases and not in others!.!.!. if you are having episodes then i would probably quit and see if that helps!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have some friends who have a son that is now about 30 years old!. By way of background, when he was a young teenager he smoked a lot of marijuana!. He was probably a daily user and he predominately used marijuana!. He was diagnosed as a schizophrenia about 17 or 18 years ago!. As part of the diagnosis, his doctor(s) discussed his condition and his early childhood use of marijuana!. Apparently there's a good deal of information regarding the long term effects of using marijuana during a young age!. It appears it affects the developement of the mind and how it wil function years later!. There's a lot of information to suggest it's the worst time for a child to engage in drug use!.
To me, it's just so sad to see this man deal with his problems on a daily basis as a result of smoking marijuana while he was a teenager!. His medical problems have really put a strain on his life and the lives of his parents!. To me, with the possibilities of such consequences, I would do everything in my power to deter my child from taking such a risk!. I mean we're talking about a life-long condition for what, the joy of getting high from smoking some cannabis!?
It also seems that once a person has completed their physical development and again process, the chances of something getting short-wired greatly diminishes as well!.

good luck to all
