i am a cutter and it helps me so no your not the only one that feels like this!. but i have to admit it has also made things worse for me in the long run too!. i mean i have lost the trust of my parents, and now that i cant do it anymore without someone knowing!. so it kind of helps but at the same time it doesnt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it is always bad!. It indicates that you have problems and that you aren't getting the medical/psychiatric attention that you need!. You're suffering needlessly!.

Something similar happened to me a few years ago!. I started getting annoyed at how loud my heartbeat was as I was trying to go to sleep!. It was kind of obvious that I had high blood pressure, but I didn't want to measure it!. I could eat less salt!. Stop smoking!. Stop drinking coffee!. But nothing really helped until I got a physical and was referred to a specialist!. The blood pressure was only a symptom of something else much more serious!. You don't have to know what's wrong to go for help; that's what the doctors spend 10+ years studying and learning!. All you need to know is your symptoms!.

I know how hard it is to ask for help!. About twenty years ago I was told who to call and it still took me a couple of months to screw up the nerve to say, "I'm a widowed parent and I'm having problems!." That was all it took, but I had to be able to do that!. That didn't solve everything, but it was a good start!.

Of course it feels like cutting helps!. You wouldn't do it otherwise!. That doesn't mean it's the best answer, though!. Give yourself another option!. You don't have to know what's wrong, at least not to the last detail, and you probably DON'T know!. All you need to do is ask for help!. You aren't the first one to do so!. You won't be turned away, laughed at or looked down on!. The people who take care of these problems have seen it all before and they won't judge you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cutting isn't really an ideal way to cope, it may help you, lots of people do it because they find it helps them deal with certain emotions!. But it isn't a healthy way to cope and it can be dangerous!. You have to figure out the underlying cause (depression, abuse, a mental disorder) and treat that, and then you will be able to find more healthy coping mechanisms!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You seem to suffer from depression! Talk to your family physician!.

The first step to getting appropriate treatment, for depression or any other emotional problem, is a complete psychological evaluation to determine whether you have a depressive illness, and if so, what type of depression!. Consultation with a psychologist will include a review of your physical health history!. Some medications as well as some medical conditions can cause symptoms of depression, so your psychologist will ask your family physician to rule out these possibilities if other physical symptoms are evident!.

Lastly, the psychological diagnostic evaluation will include a mental status examination to assess the full range of psychological symptoms and problems!. This will help identify any other psychological problems that might be present, and will help determine the most appropriate treatment for you!.

Treatment choice will depend on the outcome of the evaluation!. Most people do well with psychotherapy, but some require treatment with antidepressants in addition to psychotherapy!. Medication can allow you to to gain relatively quick symptom relief, if you are experiencing severe and disabling symptoms!. However, medication does not "cure" the depression, it only treats the symptoms!. If you are depressed, you need psychotherapy to help you to learn more effective ways to deal with life's problems, and to change the negative thoughts and attitudes that have caused you to develop depression!.

So make your first move!.Dont wait too long before it get worse!.
You are not alone, there is help around the corner, never give up!.
God bless you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes cutting is always bad!. I know it makes you feel better, but it isnt the right way to deal with the stress and anxiety that you are feeling!. You need to speak to a psychologist or a psychiatrist to get to the reason why you feel you cant express your inner turmoil in another way!.
You may need to go on to medication to help ease the symptoms!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it is !. It causes infections and can lead to damage to your internal organs!. Never mind the permanent scars on your body!. Cutting releases endorphins that are the same as taking drugs or having an orgasm!. This might sound kinky but when you want to cut try masturbating instead!.
Treatment by a doctor is your best bet if you can't stop!.
I hope you are happy no matter your choice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was a self mutilator for 11 years and felt that I knew my limits and would never go too far, but then I realized how much I was hurting the people around me!. I finally went to a psychiatrist and was put on anti depressants and I realize how much I ignored my feelings because I would instantly cut my skin or burn myself!. It's better to get help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my friend is a cutter too nd her arms were so bad that sh couldnt stop so she finally told her mom nd her mom helped her she still does a lil but not as much but ya im not saying tell ur mom cause idk but yah it can hurt u yah but i agree wear rubberbands nd snap them everytime yo feel the urge hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah, it is!. It's self mutilation!.

To stop, you can try biting your arm or snapping a rubber band on it whenever you feel the urge to cut!. That way, you won't die!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

idk!. if you hurt yourself!.!.!. it normally means you think you are worthless, you have a low self esteem, or you hate yourself!.

it helps for the moment but!.!.!. there really are better ways with dealing with stress!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Depends on what your other option is; Contemplating suicide!? Burning your hair or skin!? Drugs!? Mental instability!?

I wouldn't recommend cutting, but I can't say it's the worst option every time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its unhealthy and could be life threatening if you cut the wrong way!. Seek the help of a psychiatrist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

stop cutting! u think that you are helping but hurting urself dosen't help!. makes you need more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

but they say it doesnt help in the long run!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
