my mom and her brother suffer from depression!. im not sure about their parents though!.

If they are clinically depressed then you have a greater risk of getting it!. clinically depressed meaning you feel so depressed you wont get up for days for no reason!. when i visited the doctor today she told me some people can naturally just worry more than others!. however if things are good in your life i see no real reason why you should get depressed!. i think if you are quite an optimistic person at the moment you should be fine, your mum and her brother have probably always been the very pessimistic type!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I don't believe that depression is genetically passed because no one in my family suffers from it besides me!. Depression is based off of your own thoughts about yourself!. For example self confidence issues!. Don't let your mom's depression make you think that you will one day, too, be depressed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The disease is genetically passed, or atleast the chances of getting it are!. Like any other disease, if you have a relative with it, you are more likely to get it!. This doesn't necessarily mean you will get it, but you just have a higher chance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Genetics absolutely predispose someone to depression!.!.also, the state of living with a person who is depressed (parents, siblings, ect) can, in itself make a person depressed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
