Irritability and aggression - Self Help?!

Question: Irritability and aggression - Self Help!?
I was taking prescription medications for OCD and anxiety/depression for about 15 years!. I have recently been weaned off of them and have been completely off any prescription drugs for about 6 weeks now!. I am doing great with the OCD and depression, but I find myself easily irritated and I am also showing a lot of unnecessary aggression!. I don't yell or hurt anyone physically, it's just how I feel inside!. I really don't want to go back to taking meds again!. I have started taking a Yoga class about 3 weeks ago and it seems to be helping a little!. I was wondering if anyone knows of a self help book and/or author that would be good for me to read to help me battle this on my own and get past it without any more unnecessary drugs!. Thanks in advance for your help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Some brilliant books are The Dance Of Anger by Harriet Lerner, The Astonishing Power Of Your Emotions by Jerry and Esther Hicks and any titles by the quite remarkable Louise Hay!. Google these for more complete summaries and other titles and links!. On the more active complementary side of things Yoga is great!. Journalling, as mentioned above, is a wonderful tool to get it all out on paper!. You do not need to read it as you may reabsorb it!. It is written, it is out, throw away or best of all in a fire!! That way it is gone gone gone!! Drawing, painting any artistic medium is also really good!. Does not matter if it does not look good, that is not the point of the exercise, as long as it is out it is out!. Believe in yourself, take charge of who you are!. Write down an "I Am" list!. That is, I Am powerfull, I Am capable etc!. A great way to really get to know you and attatch to your inner self, I believe medication causes that link to the inner self to be disharmonised and then we feel lost, angry, resentfull, hurt etc!. Practical therapies I have studied and healed with include crystal healing, reiki, and the most powerful tool of all is kineisiolgy, a remarkable way of making our climb along the path of life to the summit a little easier and understandable!. I wish you all the best with your endeavours and please please learn to love yourself and who you are!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know about OCD meds, but I was taking Effexxor (ant-depressor) and risperdal (anti-psicotic) and stopped taking them (without consulting my doctor) and I've found myself easily irritated too, specially in the morning, I'm was also doig great with my depression and psycotic feats but I made an appointment for this week I'm kinda feeling down again, lately I've been reading books, general literature, it seems to have helped me, no mood swings lately, but still going to my doctors, I might consider taking meds for a longer time than excpected!. maybe this wasn;t the answer u were looking for, but just to let you know you're not the only one going through the same thing!.!.!. many blessings and hope you feel better!.!.!. try meditating a few times a dayWww@Answer-Health@Com
