Question: I need a dictionary definition for "scitzophrenia"!?
my mom is scitzophrenic and i want to know what we're up against!. i know alot about it but i cant seem to find it in the dictionary!. can you help me out!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need more than a dictionary definition or an encyclopedia article!. In Greek, schizophrenia means "divided mind!." That isn't really descriptive, but that is what you get with dictionary definitions!. There is alot of variance in schizophrenia, so I really can't tell you what you are up against!. There is very much bad information out there about schizophrenia!. Some still believe it is like "Dr!. Jekal and Mr!. Hyde!." That is far from accurate!. Your mom is still your mom and she always will be!. You are best off reading what NAMI or NIMH and other knowledgable organizations have to say about schizophrenia!. You could also look for information in scholarly journals (if you are really good at reading)!. A librarian should be able to help you find good articles!. Another source is DailyStrength!.org!. It is mainly for people who have mental or physical disorders, but many caregivers and friends are on there too!. I'm sure there is a schizophrenia group!.
