the only drug you should take is the drug your doctor prescribes!. if you ask your doctor sometimes he can give you samples!. go to free medications!.com on =the computer , Walgreen's and walmart has cheap drug plans for people who do not have insurance as low as $4!.00 per medication, call the mental health association in your area and ask them for a referral for medication they can give you phone numbers for drug companies that give free medications - there are ways that you an do itWww@Answer-Health@Com

Lithium is extremelly inexpensive, and still considered very effective for many people!. It's usually other drugs combined with lithium that result in the big expense!. The newer the drug, generally the more it costs!. Many people with BPD need these additional drugs to remain stable, however!. Whether lithium alone or combined with something else if right for you needs to be determined by your physician!.

There are patient assistance programs available through many pharmaceutical companies to help uninsured people pay for their medications!. You will need to qualify though, financially speaking!. Applications are available at the pharmaceutical companies' websites (it must be the company that manufactures that particular med)!. The application needs to be brought to your doctor's office, since they need to fill them out!. Paperwork has a habit of sitting on desks!. Make sure they complete it and get in in the mail asap!

Public mental health agencies may have funds available, depending on where you are, so be sure to check out that option too!. You will need to be connected to their system somehow, they won't just pay for your meds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It depends on what you need!. Usually people don't need a "stronger" drug, they just need a different one!.!.!.!. certain drugs are stronger/weaker depending on the person!. For example effexor can have no effect on one person with depression, and cure another!.

So always find out if there is a generic version, or something in the same drug family that a doctor can give you that would be cheaper!. Your pharmacist may also be able to give you some advice!.

All drugs are strong!. It just depends on what works for you and what doesn't!. If you want prices on specific drugs, call your local pharmacy and ask for prices!. Be prepared to have the name of the drug, the strength (10mg, etc!.), and how many per month you will be taking (30 if once daily, 60 if twice daily, etc!.)!. With insurance copays, I pay $100/month for bipolar meds!. Depakote, Lithium, Lexapro & ativan and you already have a $100 copay!. God bless you if you pay it yourself!. Check out any state run health care plans for mental health!. They really don't want us bipolar folks running around with NO meds afterall!Www@Answer-Health@Com
