Is this considered suicide?!

Question: Is this considered suicide!?
Please be sensitive, this is regarding someone very close to me!.

Recently I lost someone very close to me!. He had a history of depression mental issues and heart problems!. A week before he died, he broke his ankle slipping on ice!. He was in a lot of pain and was already weak due to a heart problem!. He said that none of the medicines he was taking were working on his pain!. He told me he was going to take morphine for his pain, but i was worried about if interacting with his other meds but he told me not to worry!.

Two months ago, he passed away, he was found in bed!. At the time it was declared heart failure, but we still had to wait on the toxicology report!. We finally got the results last week!. He officially died of a morphine overdose!. We discovered that he had not been prescribed morphine by any of his doctors or the hospital, so he must have obtained it from a friend!. We don't know!.

Even if this was an accident, is it suicide!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Probably not!. If he wanted to overdose intentionally, he could have just not told you about it!.!. after all, he was honest with you when he told you he was going to start taking morphine!. Morphine is known to be an excellent pain killer and is very very addictive in a short span of time especially for how effective it is!. It may just be that the pain was that unbearable that he decided to get it on his own and just went too far with it!. If it was an accident, it certainly couldn't be called suicide!. Perhaps it's best to try not to think of it in this direction!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

An accident cannot be considered suicide!. For it to be suicide, there would have to be intent to kill himself!. It sounds most likely that he was in severe pain, couldn't get relief from his prescribed medications and so obtained morphine!. Since it wasn't prescribed, he would have no way of knowing how much to take, which ultimately led to the overdose!. But that would be recorded as an "accidental death"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

He did have a history of depression, and if something like breaking a ankle could just make him want to go into a super depression and just say "Screw it" and over dose!.

To me suicide is killing yourself intentionally, if this was a accident then no I wouldn't consider it suicide!. Clearly it could have been glitching the other meds to cause a side effect of death!. If I recall correctly morphine makes your heart beat extremely fast and having heart problems makes a little pain killer morphine, catastrophic!. It very well could of been a accident!.

I mourn for your loss!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There's really no way to know for sure if he meant to kill himself or not!. I would say it was accidental, he could've used any of his other pain medicine to overdose but didn't!. Have you been able to find the source of the morphine!? I believe that the person who gave it to him could be criminally charged somehow with the death!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it depends on the way you look at it!. if you think that he didnt know what he was doing and he thought that it wouldnt do him any harm then i dont think it is suicide because suicide is having the intension to kill yourself and following it through but not if it was an accident!.
but the sad thing is you will never know for sure as you will never have the chance to ask him!.
hope this helps xWww@Answer-Health@Com

I don't believe an accident CAN be suicide!. Suicide means you intended to kill yourself; if it was an accident, then obviously he didn't mean to!.
There is probably no way of knowing whether he meant for this to happen or not, but either way, at least he is out of his pain!. I'm sorry for your loss!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it was an unintentional/ indirect suicide or it other words accident !. I think it depends more on how much knowlede he had about morphine !.

I just pray that his soul now rest in peace !.

Really sad to learn what happened to your friendWww@Answer-Health@Com

well, if his intention was to overdose then its suicide, but if its an accident if he unknowingly took too much then noWww@Answer-Health@Com
