Question: I think I have ADD and/or Anxiety!?
Okay, this is long and I am sorry, but I wanted to give some background!.I know there are a million questions about this type of thing, but I wanted some answers specific to me!. I am a college sophomore, in Honors College and an Engineering major!. I have a pretty high IQ and usually get good grades!. High school was really easy for me, I never understood things the way the teachers taught them, but was great at figuring things out in a different way on my own so I still understood what I needed to!.

For the last two years my grades have been slipping!. I have a ton of anxiety, I worry so much I make myself throw up and I cry pretty easily!. I go to all my classes, do the homework, and take good notes, but recently I still have been doing horribly!. I even go to the tutoring times and office hours to ask questions!. More in one minute :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey I'm in college too and I have both of those problems!. Yea medication helped me soo much!. I've had teachers who didn't beleive in ADD and after having me off my meds for one day realized how wrong they were!. I got lucky in that my mom does beleive in that stuff!. However the rest of my family doesn't so I know how hard it can be!. Most colleges have on site help for stuff like this!. Try asking teachers or your advisor!. Most colleges do not diagnose however they can help you find a doctor to diagnose you!. Most insurance companies will cover the cost!. As far as the anxiety goes!. Do you have any pets!? They always help me when I get worked up!. Also working with your hands!. I love working with modeling clay!. Things that require your total concentration that you enjoy will help take your mind off of whatever is making you upset!. Feel free to email me anytime!. I know its hard but getting diagnosed is the quickest way to get help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am to a sophomore in college and let me tell you, I have a ton of anxiety!. I don't believe in ADD at all!. I am taking a Child Development class and ADD is a bunch of bull!. I just think you think a lot about what you're thinking, why you're thinking it, etc!. I do that all the time too!. I was amazing in high school, especially in Math, every grade I ever got was an A until I hit college, I got my first D and I just didn't know why! I studied, did everything, and I still failed!. I think we both have the same problem but honestly, I do things that I know will calm me down!. I don't have a boyfriend or anything like that, but I'm not saying you should get rid of your boyfriend! I listen to my iPod a lot when I have incredible anxiety!. I just do things that will make feel better pursue!. But honestly, don't go on any medication because Doctor's will perscribe you medication to make profit off of you!. A really weird thing that calms me down is chewing gum! I get anxiety when I drive home at night, I feel asif I am going to hit someone on the street so I chew gum and I focus more on how I'm chewing then on the fear of hitting someone!. So basically when you start to get your anxiety just do something right away that will calm you down!. I hope I helped you in some way, and no I am not sucking up to you so you can vote me "Best Answer", haha!. Feel better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could be ADD and anxiety, but recent research has shown that ADD can be mis-diagnosed and can really be a "mood disorder" The moodiness and sudden irritability are signs of Bi-polar disorder, which also effects concentration, fidgetiness and lack of sleep!. Especially if these symptoms you describe come in cycles as Bi-polar is cyclic and comes in waves!. The manic phase is the cycle of sleeplessness, enhanced energy and creativity, distractability, irratibility and "chaotic/racing thoughts"!. Signs of the manic phase are also making frivolous/ lavish purchases and making decisions without the means to back them up!. Buying lots of things is a manic symptom!. These manic phases are followed by depression where you're down in the dumps, feel blue and are sleeping ALOT more!. Theres also lack of motivation, loss of interest in things you once loved and sadness!. Then the cycle goes back to the chaotic racing thoughts and "up" feeling!. If you feel these symptoms seems to come and go and suddenly reappear Id look into Bi-polar disorder!. This mood disorder is REAL and could possibly be what you're dealing with!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
