Answers:
I believe in most cases, NO! My son suffers from adhd and he has been in therapy before!. It did not help him at all!. Adhd is a chemical imbalance in the brain!. There is no therapy that can help that!. He had to be put on medicine!. He is currently on adderall and clonidine!. They have helped him tremendously!. Don't get me wrong, he does still see a therapist, because I feel that it is also good for him!. But I don't think therapy alone is going to fix the problem!. It may teach them how they are suppose to act and how to let out their feelings and frustrations, but it can't slow them down, because their bodies won't let them!. Adhd is sort of like a handicap!. If a person is in a wheelchair, you can't make them get up and walk!. Just like if a child has adhd, you can't make them sit still!. It just won't happen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A holistic treatment plan would normally include behavioural therapy because generally people with ADHD have low self-esteem and socialisation problems!. For example, many kids with ADHD doesn't know how to read people's expression, meaning they don't know whether the person they are dealing with is angry, happy, disappointed etc!.

In most cases treatment plan covers putting the ADHD kids on medication using stimulant medication!. A positive response to stimulants occurs in 70% to 80% of children with ADHD!.

However, most parents who are concerned about the long term side effects of medication prefer to use a non-drug approach - which is treating their kids with ADHD vitamins and ADHD diet!. You can read it up here:
