Great question!. I had to wonder this myself as the Xanax I take gives me a feeling of nothing gets to me or upsets me while I am on it!. It keeps me from having panic attacks but at the same time it keeps me on a more even keel!. The one benefit I have found with it is that in larger doses around the 3mg level it literally forces me to sleep!. Which is great when I hit a manic phase and absolutely have to sleep!. I deal with insomnia quite a bit and it has all but gotten rid of the insomnia!.

If you mean benzo diazapines then I don't think they are underated!. They are some of the most abused substances out there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
