Hi, I answered another of your Qs and I agree somewhat!.
Make sure you absolutely need it first!. During the time I took a benzo I felt that maybe the doctor was to quick to just hand it out to me!. And if you're sleepy, you may be taking too much!.
I would advise that you don't take it every day, only when you are very anxious!. And try just half the pill first!.
It is easy to get hooked, it happened to me very quickly, and I was acting a bit strange during that time!.
I think the fact that you are aware of what the pills are doing is a great start to not joining the club!.
I have found that for me, using a sleep aid (Ambien) with a short half life of 5 hours at night kept me rested and calm!. Then I was alert in the day, unlike with some benzos!.
Be careful and aware, get a second doctor's opinion if you feel like it!.
I wish you luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try a shorter acting benzo like ativan or xanax!.!.!. it sounds like you are on something like valium or klonopin, both of which are quite long acting!. Ativan & xanax only last 4-6 hours!. I take 8mgs of xanax a day and function fine!. Everyone is different though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe you could try a different type of medication, like an SSRI!. I'm on one for social phobia and panic disorder, and I'm coping far better than I was!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
