depends where you cut!. i cut on the top of my arm and it was so deep it needed 6 stiches and it didnt bleed like at all!. they dont need to be that deep at all to scar!. cut on the side of your hip so no one will see them or on the top of your thigh!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
My ex-girlfriend used to cut VERY deep!. She was also eating disordered and liked to cut through all the layers of skin until the layer of fat under the skin would be visable and poke through the cuts!. It didn't "count" if it didn't look like that!. Yes, the bleeding does stop as long as you do it in a fairly safe area!.!.!. outer upper arm, top of upper leg!.!.!. Don't drink alcohol or take aspirin though!.!.!. they thin the blood!. The scars they leave are terrible!.!.!. they completely disfigure and twist the flesh!. I really don't recommend this sort of cutting !.!.!. Monday isn't that far off!.!.!. But I'd rather give you safety pointers than the usual "don't do it" song and dance!. If you cut very deep and for some reason can not stop the bleeding after 10 or so minutes, wrap it tight in gauze!.!.!. that helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

*talk to someone
*take a cold shower
*go for a walk
*cook
*draw a picture!.

i know why your cutting yourself!. it is probably similar to this situation
your getting picked on by the other kids at school!. the "popular" kids think that they are all better that you and to prove that they think they need to put you down (which absolutely makes no sense) and you think that cutting yourself will make it seem like you are relieving the pain of all your other problems at school!.
my solution: when these kids are talking to you this way just know that they are probably going to end up going absolutely no where in life!. the only reason that other people like them is that they probably either developed at an early age or are athletic and good at sports!. (two qualities that actually wont help you AT ALL in this life time) try telling them this and then just walk away!. they will be shocked and wont no what to say!. then they probably wont pick on you ever again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No it will not help do not do it!. Im stressed out too over grades,boys, family, and friends!. I don't even cut myself!. It won't relieve you from your stress!. What will relieve you from your stress is talking to someone about what your going through right now!. Trust me on this i have been there before!. Stop the cutting before it gets worse!. If you go any deeper you will pop a blood vessel!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Listen i am a practicing psych!. DO NOT cut yourself!. I have allways told people who like punishing them selves to get out and excercise!. It is a great way to hurt yourself until you're crying for yourself to stop!. You also benifit from it, so it is a win win!. But if you must avoid major veins at all costs and don't cut deep(high risk of infection)!. Eventually you will be able to stop bleeding, but if it is really super deep you would probably need stitches!.

you can stop the bleeding eventually i had friends who bleed through the night but its not a good idea and i have huge, purple scars on my arms
