My friend is bi polar and she's off her medicine and she wont take it because it makes her feel encaged, and shes cutting herself, I'm trying to help her but its not working, I need help fast, I afraid shes going to do something, what should I do !?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ok honey, first you need to relax!. if you talk to her when you are all hyped up she is not going to take you seriously!. Bipolar Disorder is pretty difficult to handle!. There is a communication technique you can use, where you empahize with how the person feels and then offer solutions to them while remaining calm!. I would try to get her to see the doctor to get her medication changed over and talk about why she is cutting instead of just telling her to stop!. usually if you are willing to discuss solutions and the person you are talking to doesn't feel judged, the situation improves greatly!. In any case, she should get back to the doctor!. Let her parents know what is up if things do not get better after you talk!. Let her know you are there for her, and if you need to talk, you can talk to me!. She should be ok sweetie after you talk and try to get her back to the doctor!. Tell her you'll go to the doc with her and both of you can talk to her/him about meds that work without making her feel encaged or rotten with side effects!. If the doc doesn't value quality of life as much as managing the illness, then it's time to find a different psychiatrist!.
It is possible to find meds that work w/o leaving you feeling horrible or not right, but you need a doc who will work with you!. I have bipolar and my drugs are pretty good!. It took a long time to find them though!.
If she won't go for that, talk to her parents or anyone who can talk some sense into her!. You can try asking her how being depressed and cutting is better than being on meds, but you probably won't get far if the meds weren't really working on depression!. Idk!. Call the suicide hot line!. Tell them What you just told us!. Ask the, what to do!. They can give you local resources!. If she is hurting herself she needs help fast!. She may kill herself!. At this point I would advise against calling the police!. They can do more harm than good at times!. Call the hot line!. You can find it online for your town or in the phone book!.
If your friend is a minor, tell her mom or dad!. Hell, tell YOUR mom or dad!. They can advise you best anyway!.

I used to cutt!.!.!.!. If shes not cutting deep you have nothing to worry about!. She'll just go to a mental hospilal, and be put back on medication!. And you cant make someone take their medication!. Shes going to have to realize on her own that its the best thing for her!. If shes unwilling to take it, and people are pressuring her, shes just ganna get mad!. Trust me, I know!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
As a friend, the best thing you can do for her is help!. She may not like you for it, but call her parents, call her doctor, call anyone she trusts to help you!. Don't try to handle this issue alone!. Doctors can work with her and adjust/change the medication so she doesn't feel encaged!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
