Serious Question..... Please help me... re: seroquel?!

Question: Serious Question!.!.!.!.!. Please help me!.!.!. re: seroquel!?
The past two nights I have gotten up in the middle of the night (3am ish) and drove my car up to the gas station for food!. The night before last it was pop tarts, last night it was a pint of ice cream!.
I'm on 200 mg of Seroquel - my dr said it would help me for sleep!. I'm also bi-polar!. I take neurontin and prozac during the day!.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of night time eating while on Seroquel!?!? I'm semi awake when it is happening - its like I'm in a fog and I remember everything in the morning!.

Please help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are eating like that, you need to get off Seroquel!. If you are driving while stoned, buy stuff to have at home and get off fast!. I eat when taking it, have some munchies if I don't fall asleep, but that's about it!.

The following is based on what I have heard from my psychiastrist, my prior psychiatrist, all the research I've done, the info at PubMed (National Institute of Health's reseach repository), the website below, and various ppl in support groups!.

Your doctor does not have you on a true mood stabilizer!. Stabilizers are Lithium, Lamictal, Trileptal, Tegretol, Depakote, for some rare types of rapid cycling Topamax!. Higher doses of some antipsychotics can be used, but they are treating symptoms more than the illness - but, the jury is out on that!.

Research indicates that Neurontin is good for epilepsy and anxiety, not much so for stabilization!. Seroquel can be good, but at twice the dose or more than what you are taking!. Prozac is an antidepressant, and if anything it is destabilizing!.

Do some of your own research and then talk to your doctor about what really is in your best interest!. If you doctor doesn't know this stuff, get another doctor who does!.

i know exactly what you're talking about, except i'm only on 25mg for seroquel!. before i take seroquel, i always need to eat something before it works!. It gets very foggy before I sleep, but eventually it puts me dead to sleep!. It is VERY dangerous to drive when you're on it, so I suggest perhaps maybe buying some food and leaving it at home!? so if you do happen to get a huge craving, let it be available in your kitchen!.

I don't think seroquel is the best for everyone!. i have gained weight on it!. I think its especially dangerous if you're taking such a high dosage!. I suggest talking to you doctor about some alternatives because it sounds like its making you do things that can be quite dangerous for yourself and others!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've heard of this when taking Ambien (sleeping pill) but you wake up with a receipt and don't remember going to the store!. All medication has side effects, this just happens to be yours!. Talk to your doctor this could potentially be dangerous driving half asleep maybe he will change you to a similar prescription that doesn't have this side effect!. Good luck!.Edit: yes I gained a LOT of weight taking these similar prescriptions, I'm taking Wellbutrin, Abilify & Lamictal for bi-polar, depression, vallium for anxiety & rozerem for insomnia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, but I was on 900mg, now that its only down to 100 I dont have that side effect anymore!. Talk to your doc about lowering the dosage!. I am also bipolar!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, I didn't when taking Seroquel, but seriously, call your doc and tell them what's going on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've gained nearly 20 pounds on this medication!. At night after I take it, it's like I've never eaten!. I find that I am going to the fridge and eating without thinking -- almost in my sleep!.

But this medication has for the most part been by far the best medication I've ever taken!. I am really quite stable and love the fact that I can sleep and wake up feeling good, and that I remain grounded and ready to deal with me as I am without the distraction of moods out of control!.

I am fairly active -- I walk about an hour a day religously -- but it is the eating that is out of control!. Would like to wire my muth shut at night!.

I bought a few new pairs of pants one week and the next week they were too tight!.

I was put on a diet where I avoid foods with a high glycemic index (lots of processed sugar or starch, especially processed starches like in white breads)!. I found that this diet has kept me from gaining an excess amount of weight!. I
