I'm on Effexor 75mg/day for ppd and anxiety!. my doctor is keeping me on the meds until this september when she wants to re-evaluate me and possible wean me!. i'm neverous because i've heard that weaning off of effexor can be terrible!. i've had days where i've missed a pill now and then and the next day i am horrible!. i have flu like symptoms, i get dizziness and my mood swings are horrible!. anybody have anything helpful!? or simliar experiences!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am weening off effexor right now (with hte help of my doctor)!. It is an absolutely HORRIBLE experience!!! I despise Effexor!. It never really worked for me, but now I am physically dependant on it!. Please reconsider taking anti-deppressants (before-hand)!. Is your depression something that you CAN cope with!? Do you really have depression or are you just experiencing a side-affect of something else !?Do you think your depression is temporary!? Is it something that will blow-over over time!? Do you have any other options!? Any other alternatives!? I never use to be a "depressed" person- before I became depressed!. It really worried me, so I went to see a Psych nurse at a Psych clinic in my town!. She immediately prescribed me the anti- depressant meds!. I curse the day I went to see her! I overcame my depression on my own ; the Efffexor didn't work, but when I tried to stop taking them, it was physically impossible! The doctor said that people claim that the withdrawl symptoms feel like the "flu"!. The flu!?!?!? I'd MUCH rather have ANY flu, than to feel like this!.!.!.!.!.!!!!!!! I can't even go to work or function like a human being!!! I'm so sick right now (mentally and physically)!! It was a horrible experience coming off effexor for myself!. The withdrawals took almost 8 weeks for me to feel right again!.I mistook my headache pills for effexor lol for 4 weeks!. I was suicidal, and crabby and really angry all of the time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i was on effexor for about six months!. i was also taking klonopin at the time to help me sleep and control my anxiety!. after being put on effoxor, i had to be put on remeron on top of the klonopin to sleep!. i never missed a pill because my parents put my medicine in a cup since, at the time, i was suicidal!. being on it, my anxiety was terrible!. i couldn't really eat much!. coming off of it was worse!. i constantly had this dizzy feeling that was weird!. my ears were ringing the whole time i was trying to come off of it!. i was sick to my stomach and i had chills!. all of my muscles hurt!. effexor isn't a good med to be on because it really hasn't been researched much!. i only know one or two people that have had good results with it!. but they haven't tried coming off of it yet, either!. i wish you well!. and if you don't like it, the earlier you come off of it the better!. there are always other meds to take!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
