I got off of my meds to have my baby so she would be safe from them and I have not had a sucide attempt since!.!.!. still crazy (or mentally ill if you will) but not sucidal I get upset and have problems but death isn't an answer!.!.!.!. Here are a few sites that are interesting and they may help you with your speech!.!.!.!. I was just a "bad child" ADHD at first and then bi-polar and depressed and so-on!.!.!. I believe that we over medicate our children!.!.!. presonaly oppinion of coarse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If socialization, learning, and functioning are seriously impaired and other alternatives do not resolve the problems, then in my view medication and counseling are appropriate!. For me, other alternatives include the family readjusting its ways, natural supplements, diet, exercise, counseling alone!. A diagnosis is by a pediatric pschiatrist, not a teacher or even a regular doctor!. A second opinion is obtained!. Some kids are born with or develop serious mental illnesses!. They absolutely need treatment regardless of the risks that come with the medications!.

Unfortunately, these days too many teachers and parents can't or don't want to manage kids with hyperactive natures so they run to meds too quickly!. Unfortunately, too many parents are so busy making a buck that their kids don't get the emotional support that's needed to avoid depression and emotional neglect!. Sometimes money is not worth the price!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have no links to relevent websites sorry, however my personal opinion is that most children do not need anti depressants and other psychiatric medication!.

I have taken efexor for 6 years and it really is one of the hardest drugs to come off!.!.!.the electrick shock sensation in the head is nauseating!.

If I, at 29yrs old have difficulty with weaning off this drug, can you imagine how children would cope!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe these will provide you with some useful info, or at least a place to start as resources should be cited in the last 2!. I also agree with Marytn!. Too many children are medicated because it is easier!. I live in Tennessee and at one time Tennessee was noted as having the most prescriptions for ritalin written!. Teachers were actually diagnosising children and advising parents to ask the PCP for a script!.!.!.made the kids easier to handle in the classroom!.!.!.!.that is BS!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ahh all you have to do is go to the search engine and type in Adhd,ADD and plenty of stuff comes up!. As for looking for someone who knows people who have children who have been diagnosed with that, it is serious!. You can not say people do not raise their children because I see that they are very good as far as discipline!. This particular parent seems to let the child take her medicine for school purposes and on the weekends she lets the child be himself!. It seems to be working so far so good!. I see and the parent sees improvement in his behavior!.
I also have a 22 year old cousin who has it!. She still has problems when people talk to her she gets this dazed look and she cannot recall what you have just said to her!. She is slow but I feel that her medicine did not help her situation because she seems to have a delayed affect in her behavior and still cannot make a major decision without asking her mother!. I feel that she is not going to be able to find a job and be able to work to take care of herself independently!. I feel so sorry for her but her brother is totally the opposite and he was on the same medication!. I felt at the time they began their medication they were too old and their mother already knew how to put her in activities to release the extra energy!. My cousins particular case, I think it was easier for my aunt to say she had ADHD than for to actually deal with some of the mistakes she made as the parent and the child!. This is happening with a lot of parents today!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to www!.ncpamd!.com/adhd_and_medication!.htm this site has all that you are asking for!. EDIT: My son had severe ADHD I didn't know about ADHD until he started school, I just thought he was a difficult hyper child!. After numerous tests ADHD was diagnosed and he was prescribed Ritalin, I had a new child, one who was easier to handle although Ritalin is a stimulant, those with ADHD it gives them a calming effect and keeps them focused!. When I forgot to give him his pill, EVERY time the school called because he was unmanageable, so I know they were working!. I think the benefits outweigh the risks by far!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

they should be able to take it, only if they need it!.!.!.
or else they may hve serious health issuesWww@Answer-Health@Com
