What should i do?? im worried about a friend?!

Question: What should i do!?!? im worried about a friend!?
I just found out that one of my friends is having suicidal thoughts!. She's 17, fm!.
When she was drunk at the weekend she told people that she'd written a suicide note!. I wasn't there when she said this as i'd gone home earlier in the night!.
I just don't really know what to make of it all!?
I don't understand why she would write this note in the first place!.!.!.or tell everyone!.

The thing is i also have these types of thoughts!.!.!.yet for me they are just thoughts and i would never go ahed with any of it!.

I don't think my friends are going to do anything about it to help and that's what makes me so worried!. By writting the note i feel she was taking the thoughts one step further!.!.!.which worries me too!.
I don't know if she's self harming or anything but what i really don't understant is that she always seems really chatty and happy!.
When i get really down i don't say anything to anyone!. I don't even go out!.
I don't know!.!.!.im just confused about it all and very worriedWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
first, the fact the she is " chatty and happy " doesn't mean she really is!. some people are really good and hiding how they really feel!. and sometimes people only get really depressed when they're by themselves!. i use the term " trapped in your own head "!.

as for what i think you should do, i honestly think you need to watch her!. make sure she wasn't just talking about the suicide note for attention!. if she really did write it you might want to consider letting her family know about whats going on!. even though I'm pretty sure she'll be upset about that but sometimes it needs to be done!. also find out if she's a " cutter "!. if she is self-mutilating then she really does need to get help!.
