Hi, I am really sorry you are so overwhelmed at the moment but know that this moment will pass and although you feel really really awful it wont last forever!.

Your focus at the moment is not really stopping the cutting or dealing with anything like that!. Your focus is this test!. You need to focus your mind for the next 24 hours or so on this one test!. You might pass or you might not but you cant deal with the outcome until you have actually done the test!.

Do as best as you can with revision now until then!. It might be that you need to just do some VERY basic last minute cramming and try your very hardest to get through the test with as many marks as you can!.

How do you learn best!? - have all the info you need infront of you and think how am I going to get this into my brain for tomorrow!. Cut it all down to very very basic points that will trigger your memory of the information you need!. I have sometimes drawn a simple picture representing the things I have needed to learn and as soon as I walked into the exam room and allowed to open the paper quickly drawn the images on the page before I even look at the questions that way I have something there to trigger my thoughts and memories about what I am supposed to know!. You will possibly have you own methods but incase you dont or need something new then I suggest you try that!. That way you are actively doing something between now and the exam which will make you feel better that atleast you are doing something!. It will also mean that you know you will have something to write about in the exam you will have a start point for the information you need to remember for the questions so you wont feel like all is blank!.

Just thinking of all you have to learn in this short space of time will probably overwhelm you beyond your control and nothing will go in because you are so anxious!. Just stick with the basics!.

So the main focus for you now at this short moment in time is your exam!. If this is your last exam then once it is over I think it is time to get help!. I think it is time to stop your life as it is and make a change!. The biggest change is when you go to your doctor or a councellor and say I need help I am going under and I want to stay ontop!. Those words will trigger support from a good doctor or councellor!. If you dont feel that you can explain yourself verbally then write it all down and hand it to them!. They will read it and take it from there!.

Distracting yourself from cutting by focussing on cramming for the exam may help!. If it does not and you need to cut then that is a coping method which you will decide whether or not you need to use for this moment!. Just be as sensible about it as you can and avoid any serious damage - try superficial scratches rather then deep cuts if you absolutly must!. I used to find having a hot bath helped or eating an ice block!. I know its not the same but it is something better then scars!.

Today you are just dealing with the exam!. Dont deal with anything eles!. Tell yourself once the exam is done that will be the time you ask for help and you wont stop asking until you get the help you need!. Things arent going to get better unless you take action to change them and you cant take that action on your own as you are highly stressed and troubled!.

I know it is hard but dont worry about your parents reaction to you reaching out for the help you need!. At first they dont need to know anyway!. You have to live with yourself 24/7 and if you are not comfortable in your own skin you need to change that and although they may not understand they will eventually see that by getting help you become a happier person and they will finally oneday come around to the fact that you made a good decsion for yourself and they may even admire you for it!.

Take very good care of yourself!. It is not the end of the world if you fail this exam at all - although of course it would feel so much easier if you passed!. Take one step at a time and see the next 48 hours as a stepping stone towards a new outlook in life for yourself where you begin to take care of yourself by asking for help when you need it!.

You do need help!. Do the exam and then straight from the exam have an appointment lined up with someone - doctor/councellor!. Ask for an emergency appointment and you will be fitted in!.

Good Luck!. Better times are ahead xxxWww@Answer-Health@Com

you hav a choice!.!.either cut yourself and know you want to stop and feel miserable OR tell yourself to stop and study your hardest for the final! its your choice but no one can decide for you good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cutting doesn't help anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

leaving this till the last minute before an exam is somewhat self-abuse as you I am certain know what is going to happen, what do you think!.
as for the last minute stuff !.!.!. milk contains tryptophan and that amino acid helps one to sleep, possibly relax!.!.!. go for a walk or talk to someone, even a crisis line !.!.!. just to eliminate the current level of anxiety you have built up
Hopefully next time you will be less angry with yourself and set up a more appropriate approach to stress:)

Very best of luck * I know you can do it & you do too:)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hon, if the longest you have gone without cutting is 14 days then you really need to find someone to talk to!. Your being stressed out has more to it than testing!.

My daughter started cutting at age 14 but I caught it quickly!. It didn't stop all the way and she has come a long way since then (turned 16 in October) but I still worry that if she cuts - what if she cuts with something that will give her an infection, what if she accidentally cuts too deep and I don't get to her in time!.

My daughter has emotional issues with her dad and their relationship and she will never fully be free of her self-harm thoughts or suicidal ideation until she can get to the root of it all!.

You need to find someone you can talk to, preferably a professional, that can help you get to a point where you can use other coping skills to replace the cutting!.

One thing that works for my girl is that she wears a thick rubberband (not a tight one) around her wrist - when she feels like cutting - she snaps it and it helps!.

Please talk to someone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
