I don't know about oversleeping, but I have read about memory loss with epilepsy!. There is disagreement with doctors about why this happens!. Some people think that having had a lot of seizures in your life affects your memory!. It seems to depend on where the seizures start in the brain!. Sometimes there can be damage where the brain forms memories!. Some drs disagree with this!. Those drs know for sure that memory loss happens in the short-term after fits, but they are not positive if it can cause it be all the time!. However, I'm married to an epileptic whose only had a few big seizures--but he is very spacey, and forgets all sorts of things!. I think it has to do with the epilepsy, I really do!. Some medications can cause this too, like Neurontin!. My husband is on carbamazepine and it doesn't seem to change anything about him when he's on it!.
If your bf is like my husband, he isn't insensitive--there's just something in his brain that isn't making the memories stick like they should!. You have to be patient, but it *can* be so annoying sometimes, like when I've told him 700 times to water the lawn and he honestly forgets about it!. I've found that making notes for him helps, since it's a constant reminder for him!. So, remember that he can't help it--that he's not doing it to be a jerk or anything!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know that tiredness and loss of memory is a side effect of some of the drugs people with epilepsy have to take!. I am no expert on the condition but one of the drugs I take is an anti-epilepsy drug which I take for chronic pain and I can empathise wholeheartedly if they have to deal with the symptoms and side effects I do every day on top of their epilepsy

It can definately cause tiredness and over sleep and forgetting things!. My friend has it!. However, its not that bad and only effects him every now and then!. I'm not being horrible but maybe he is playing on it a little!? Not in a horrible way just in a bloke kinda way!. I'm sure he loves you xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Are they sure it's epilepsy!? There is something called psuedoseizures that closely resemble epileptic seizures and it commonly gets diagnosed wrong!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
