Answers:
Hello,
I am a 50Yr old f that has had MS for many years!.I wont fib to you, There are times when MS can be a bit challenging, but in no way is it the worse disease out there!.I still work full time and lead a full and active life with my kids and grand kids!.
I would suggest that you do some research!. Knowledge is power!.Talk to His Dr about one of the disease modifying drugs, at this point they really are our best hope!.They are all injections, but don't let that scare you, they aren't that bad!.!.I take betaseron!. It stings for about 10 seconds, 3 times a week!.Really a pretty little thing for all the benefits I get from it!.
Keep active with him,get exercise, eat right and just take care of each other!.There may be times when he just doesn't feel well,He may tire easily or seem to have brain fog, so just be patient!.Some of the meds, or placement of lesions may cause mild depression!.It's not a bad idea to take a light antidepressant!.
You guys can still lead a very normal family life!.!.Just hang in thereWww@Answer-Health@Com

well this all depends on how sever a case he has!. Your doc says he is just now starting to show signs though he had it for 16 years!. perhaps it will not develope much further, but one of my friends sisters has MS and her case i believe is rpetty bad!. Its a phsyical thing and its good that your not going to leave him for a shallow reason!. your best bet is to start reading in the MS forums online and talk to real people in your perdicament,!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

MS is not a mental disorder, it's a disorder of the central nervous system!. I'm thinking that since you asked in the mental health section you are wondering what may happen with him emotionally!.

Everyone handles the diagnosis differently!. Some are very strong and resilient emotionally!. However, It's not uncommon to have depressive symptoms at times, even the resilient people, and a significant number people with MS do get Major Depression!. Other mental health conditions may appear as well, particularly other affective disorders such as anxiety!. Of course, these types of diagnoses can also occur with other chronic physical illnesses as well!. Psychotic disorders can happen, but they are rare!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
