Question: I want to change the way my life's going!?
I've just turned 15 and I'm in year 10 at school!. About 4 months ago, I had to give up drinking!. I used to get really drunk almost every day of the week, even in school!. Eventually school found out and told my parents and social services got involved, and I hated it!. I had really bad withdrawal symptoms and I'm still feeling depressed all the time!. All I can thinking about is drinking and smoking!. I don't drink at all anymore because I can't risk it as I'm on a final warning from the social services, but I still smoke a lot and smoke weed sometimes!. The thing is, I know how bad it all is for me and I know where it'll take me in life but it doesn't seem to make any difference!. I feel as if no matter how bad things go, nothing will make me want to stop!. I know that as soon as I'm free to do whatever I want, I'm just going to drink and smoke and take drugs all the time!. Even now, I can't go a day without smoking and I need some kind of drugs to get me through!. I don't know what canWww@Answer-Health@Com

First off, if you don't want to stop you never will!. That being said, if some part of you didn't want to stop and start living a more positive life you wouldn't have taken the time to post this question!. My suggestion is talk to your parents about seeing a counselor or psychologist!. If you hit a dead end there you can talk to the school counselor!. If your school doesn't have a counselor or they can't/won't help search for youth counseling center in your area!.
If you feel you can't go to your parents or seek counseling you have a tough road ahead of you!. It comes down to realizing why your doing what your doing!. Smoking is simply a self destructive habit!. It seems to me you don't care if anything happens to you, but when your drinking involved your family you stopped because you didn't want to see them get hurt!.
This could stem from low self esteem, where you don't care what happen to you, but you don't want anything bad to happen to anyone else!. Drugs, in any form, is just a way to escape the stress and/or realities of life!. Some people drink coffee in the morning to get them going, others use alcohol to numb the thoughts or regrets that consume their lives!.

The only person who can make you stop this spiral of self destruction is YOU!
That said, you need help to do it!. You need to talk to a counsellor who can help you discover why you are being so self destructive!. The counsellor will guide you and support you and encourage you when it gets tough!. You know you need some help so ask your social worker to refer you to your local alcohol and drug advisory service!.

i know its easier said then done and i am not a teenager, but somehow you need to find something fun to replace those habits or you're going down hill
join a club or get a hobby - maybe something you can join with a friend, do stuff to make yourself feel good, maybe someting sweet or a bubble bath, maybe get a pet, if ok with your parents

How about some healthy activities with your friends!? Go shopping swimming dancing so on!. Or get addict to something else other than smoking drinking!. I m addicted to games & animations!. :DWww@Answer-Health@Com

try wearing an elastic band on your wrist, everytime you wanna drink or smoke 'ping' it!. you will relate pain with smoking/drinking!.

You want it straight!.!.!.!.from a single Dad who has raised two Sons alone!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.ok here it is!. From what youv'e said, it tells me that you are not happy at home or at school!. I would evenventure to say that you are a loner and have no real friends or the ones you hang out with have influenced you in the wrong direction!.! If you were my Daughter I would restrict you (ground you) for your own protection, not puinishment, until I starightened you out!. You might hate it at first, but later in life you would understand and thank me for doing so!. My advice is the right one and here's what I recommend you do!. Never mind councellors,shrinks or all those self esteemed experts, you hold the real answer and key inside of you!. You need to force immediate lifestyle change and here's how you do it!. Drop all your associations instantly, start becoming involved in whatever you enjoy doing the most, like sports, theatre, dancing, horses, dogs, whatever!. Join some different groups, go camping, it's a great exhilarating escape!. Just make yourself quit smoking and drinking, you know you canj and it will only f-k you up permanently if you don't!. Let's face it, you have a very low opinion of yourself, you probably hate yourself when you look in the mirror and feel you are on a dead end trip with no future to look forard to!.!.!.!.!.am I right so far, Then follow my advice, it's your only chance and do let me know how things turn out!.!Www@Answer-Health@Com

drugs could make you do weird things that you may regret in life so stop

You should visit a therapist who works with these types of issues!. If you'd rather not do that (which really is the best option by far) then you need to involve yourself in activities all throughout the day!. You need to keep yourself busy!. It's easier that way!. You always need to remember that these withdrawal symptoms WILL pass! If you are really craving alcohol, then you should try taking a nap!. Sleep the craving off!. Or try replacing it with something like water!. Do research on the internet using Google on how to manage alcohol withdrawal symptoms!. I am sure there are tons of sites out there that can help you!. There are most likely many many chat rooms too that have people in your same situation that you can converse with!. Never give up! Keep fighting this! It will soon pass!. I know what it's like coming off drugs and having bad withdrawal symptoms!. I had a very hard time getting off different anti-depressants in my life!. You need to find your inner strength and hold on to it!. Always imagine how much better your life is going to be once you're off all of this junk!. It will be so rewarding!. Well sweety, alcoholism is a very serious desease, as is drug addiction!. If I were you, I would talk to your parents and tell them you want and need help!. See if they will set you up with an appointment with a doctor!. They have medicine and patches that may help you quit smoking!. They may refere you to talk to a councelor/psycologist to help you work through it!.
You can have private consultations or group counceling!. A lot of times alcohilism and drug use go hand and hand with depression or other mental disorders!. If that is your case, there is medicine for that as well!. There is nothing to be ashamed of in asking for help, I would be more ashamed knowing I had a problem and not doing anything about it!. You may have a long tough road ahead, but hang in there, the sooner you get the help the better off you will be!. well if you dont have one of these, find one!. a boyfriend girlfriend or best friend that you care about more than anything and would do anything for, someone who doesnt do these things and will push you!. think about your parents, and like you are, how bad your life will end up!. believe me, if social services get involved your life will be crap, im talking juvie for 2 years, then probation and rehab until your like, 21, my friend charlie went through the same thing and i stopped because i saw it first(maybe second) hand!. but maybe thats what you need, a break!. go to rehab, but i warn you, its a very rude awakening, but you know you have to do it eventually!. i suggest either finding someone to personally help you, or turn to the communityWww@Answer-Health@Com

Oh jeez, you're only 15!?
You probably already realize this, but you need to stop smoking too!. They're horrible for your health and everything else!. There are many clinics and doctors that would be available to help you!. If you keep doing this, your life can only get worse and you've still got a ways to go!. I know that you don't think you can do it because of the fear of withdrawal and the power of the addiction but you've already gotten past the first step which is admitting that you have a problem so I think you have a very good chance of fixing your life!.
