She keeps insisting that you can't stop without going to AA!. But it doesn't make sense since I stopped for four months and have no plans on doing it again!. Why can't she just accept that not everybody needs AA to stop drinking!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

People like this are adamant in their belief that AA is not a cult, then go out of their way to prove it is one!.
Point out to this person that people had gotten sober for thousands of years on their own before Bill and Dr!. Bob got together!. Many I've said this too get that strange "deer in the headlights" look, they have obviously never considered it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just tell her kindly that you are handling it on your own and AA isn't for everyone!.!.!.which it isn't!. I learned first hand from trying to make someone go to AA!. It is possible to quit on your own but you should have some kind of support system!.!.!.which I am sure you do!. Friends, family, counselor or another type of support group!. Tell her assertively you don't feel comfortable discussing the issue further with her and that you should just agree to disagree in order to maintain the relationship cordial!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
No one at work should be telling you what to do!. I agree with everyone else that you should very nicely tell her that you are handling it on your own!.
I know a lot of people (including myself) don't like AA for a variety of reasons!. But, it is helpful to be in a group where you can get support from other people going through the same thing!. I just wanted to make sure you know that their are support groups that are totally different from AA and that might help you!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
