Question: Relative is dating a pedophile!?!?!!?
Okay so a !.!.!.relative (female) of mine is dating a pedophile(male) and it's so weird!.!.!.she's really nice!. He is in jail and will be in jail for (less than 5 more than 1) years and she still visits him! I don't understand whyyy she would keep seeing this asshole, he has "priors" or something, when he could get her in trouble!. People track down pedophiles and beat them! Would they hurt her to!? He has already been attacked in jail (I don't know how many times) and they broke his stuff!. She is kind of old, but omg, she's not a criminal!. She wont listen to any of my other relatives (she's not a distant relative, but not a parent) about leaving him even though now that he's gone she's really lonely!. I can't really do much, but god do you think she'll end up leaving him anyway!?!?!.!.hopefully!?

I think there may be some quality that she sees in him that no one else sees because all they see is his crime!. Granted, I think that is gross, but it is not my place to judge her feelings!. She may truely believe that he is reformed and can change!. It may be a good influence on him, if she is a really good person; he may feel he wants to change to keep her!. However, I think others might feel she is condoning his behavior, and she may experience some fallout!. I think the best way to talk to her about this is not to tell her she shouldn't be with this guy, but to ask her why she is!. If she has to evaluate the circumstance instead of just defend it, she may figure out she is wrong, or you and your family may be able to gain some insight as to why she is so hung up on him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The more you try and convince her she's wrong, the more she's going to want to stay with him!.
I think there are probably other people better for her, but that is up to her to figure out!. I think you're within your rights to say that you don't want this person in your home or near your children, if you have any!.

Sounds like she has low self esteem!. I'm sure once he gets out, and reality sets in, she'll leave him!. Right now she can only fantasize a relationship with him!. insecure women often like guys in jail!.
