like substance abuse , how does someone get through thatWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It depends!. Some drugs make your body feel like they need them after a time - a physical dependency!. Sometimes people develop a mental/emotional attachment to prescriptions and give them more power than they actually have!. Sometimes, you get a combination of both types of addiction!. People can become more easily addicted to prescriptions because they can "justify" their use - its medicine that is prescribed so it must be "ok" even well after its clear that it isn't!.

To get through a prescription drug addiction you need a LOT of support and a desire to stop!. It's not easy, but it is totally doable!. Its just that too often the stress and drama of life tempts people to go back to the medications rather than to other supports and they fall off the rehab wagon!.

"Real" supports aren't as quick a fix as the drugs - so its understandable, even if its not the best thing to do!. Addicts need treatment with understanding and compassion as well as accountability!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The only way to get through substance abuse is the person themself really has to want to better themselves!. They have to want to be better, and it has to be there choice and they have to be fully committed to the idea!.
The reason people get addicted to substances wether it be perscripitons, alcohol, or illegal drugs!. It has to do with there body chemistry and there personality!. If the person has an addictive personality they are more proned to becoming addicted to something, but that doesnt mean that everyone with an addictive persinality and the right body chemistry will become and addict!. Sometimes it's the choices they make in life and sometimes it isn't there fault!. Some patient's have been perscribed meds!. and because of there chemistry and there medical problems it just happend!.
Hope this helped

5 ways:
1!. You can get addicted to tiny little sugar pills!. When trials test valium against a placebo, people get addicted to the placebo!. A lot of addiction is people making themselves addicted through their own expectations!. Seriously - your mind is that powerful!.
2!. If you never deal with the issues which made you want to take drugs in the first place, then you'll still suffer from them if you stop taking the drugs!. Even if you make some progress with the issues whilst on drugs, that progress doesn't always transfer across to when you're sober!.
3!. Reinforcement!. Continually feeling good about taking the drug and feeling bad about not having it will make these responses automatic in the same way Pavlov's dogs salivate when they hear the bell!.
4!. Drugs overload the brain!. The brain adapts!. When people stop taking the drug, their brain is out of kilter!.
5!. Some prescription drugs are actually taken recreationally!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is easy to get addicted to any kind of drug!. A lot of addictions are in a persons head!. They feel that they cannot do without it!. Sometimes you do have to be taken off of a medication slowly, just for health purposes!. I take some prescription drugs that help me with depression and anxiety, because they help me!. It would be very easily addicting if I had in my head that there is no way I can live without it!. But I could quit taking it, although then my depression and anxiety would probably come back!. If you feel that you or someone you know is addicted to a prescription drug, then you might want to speak to your doctor about it!. There are services that help people with that, but I don't think it is addiction if you just need it to help you with your problems!. Only if you cannot quit even if you wanted to, that is addiction!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They damage the brain in such a way that it becomes painful not to have them!. It is like if you stab yourself with a stake, if you pull it out it hurts and bleeds more so you leave it in till you get to the hospital!. The cause of the injury prevents further injury by "plugging" the hole!.

The easiest way to get through it is to gradually reduce the amount until the body can adjust!. Craving causes this process to be very difficult for many people but still not as painful as cold turkey in many cases!. My friend's wife died from alcohol withdrawal last year so I know for sure that being careful with this issue is imperative!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are some chemical components of certain drugs that are naturally addictive!. That is why it is important to consult a doctor or ask for a prescription when taking medications, and strictly follows the prescribed dose and length of taking the medication!. If a person takes more than what has been prescribed by doctors, there is a big possibility that a person could get addicted to it; i!.e!. unusual cravings for that drugs and soon, its is already a habit that is hard to break!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
