I know that exposure therapy has been used and is effective for some!.

Cognitive Restructuring therapy can be effective and helpful for some!.

EMDR which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing- is another treatment that can work!. This is a short term technique, but you may need longer term therapy in conjunction with this!. I have heard good things about EMDR, though since I am not trained in this, I have never actually tried it with clients of my own- and cannot say for sure how this works in reality!.

Any therapist you see should be trained in these techniques!. If they do not possess the training, you may want to seek out someone else!.

And you should be picky about your therapist!. Trust and comfort are key, especially if this is someone you will have help you get through some scary things in your life!. Just because they have the degree and training doesn't mean they are the right fit for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was on prozac for 10 or more years and I didn't realize what the problem was!. I went back to Church and I am a Catholic and took advantage of confession on a regular basis and I have not taken an anti-depressant in like close to under a year and I have been feeling different issues but, talking to a good confessor about issues and problems has helped me deal with the big picture of things! I was a mess believe me and I didn't even want to live any more because of the problems life carried with it but, having someone to hear me has helped me tremendously to sort out things which were really bad and out of order!. I would go day after day until I got it straight and now I still go regularly to keep my head on my shoulders and a therapist may be necessary for some extreme cases but there is nothing like a good priest to do the job that many therapists could not do in my whole life of turmoil!.God bless you and show you the way to the solution to all that ails you!LAWww@Answer-Health@Com
