When you can't sleep...?!


Question: When you can't sleep!.!.!.!?
I go through phases where i cannot fall asleep!. ill stay up all night worrying, fidgeting, or just cant seem to get comfortable!.

What are some non drug related remedies you use to fall asleep!.

**note: I've tried melatonin (sp!?) and it doesnt seem to helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

count slowly back from a hundred

listen to your breathing

sleep with your eyes closed but looking upwards (tires your lids out)

do exercise about 2 hours to 1 hour before you go to bed

have a warm bath 1/2 and hour before you sleep

dont spend all evening sat down or watching tv e!.t!.c

dont do things in your bed, do them on the sofa e!.t!.c till bedtime that way your body knows that your bed is the place to sleep not anything elseWww@Answer-Health@Com

Any warm liquid before bed will help you fall to sleep!. Also, you should try taking a warm bath or shower before going to bed, because it will relax you and you'll probably be much more comfortable while laying down!.

You could also try something that will tire your eyes - like reading!. If you read for about a half-an-hour before sleep, your eyes will get very weary and that should also help you!.

Pick a nice boring book to read right before going to bed!.
Put on a movie that is dull and slow moving!. Choose one that you do not like!.
Start yawning as if you are feeling tired!.
Sudoku helps me get tired!.

i find hot baths or hot showers very helpful in this situation!. in order to achieve a good sleep-promoting effect, this method should make you sweat and also should make you tired!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you should exercise during the day around 4-6 hours before going to bed, cut out any chocolate or caffeine 4-6 hours before going to bed, have a bath, and dont watch anything on tv likely keep you up or too close to bedtimeWww@Answer-Health@Com

POT!.!.ooops thats a drug!. but it sure helps me sleep when needed!. its the only thing i use to help me sleep!.!.!.or tylenol pm!.!.thats good too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

warm glass of milk, camamel(sp!?) tea, stay away from watching tv late at night that stimulates you and keeps you upWww@Answer-Health@Com
