Question: I have a question about Paxil!.!.!.!?
I have been on Paxil now for about 6 months to a year due to panick attacks and depression!.!.!.I have completely lost my sex drive and it is affecting my relationship with my husband!.!.!.I don't want to just go off the meds because the panick attacks are horrible and I started becoming agoraphobic!.!.!.Has anyone or anyone you know had this experience!? And if so, did you change medications!? What worked for you!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had the same problem with Paxil and Luvox, so now I take Wellbutrin and it helps me and doesn't have the sexual side effects!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
That is one of the side effects of Paxil and your doctor should have warned you about it!. Please go talk to your doctor and see if you could lower your dosage (sometimes that will do the trick) or switch to something else!. Also, be sure you see a counselor to learn ways to deal with your panic attacks besides the meds!. That way at some point you may feel like you can get off the meds at some point!. I have had bouts of panic attacks in my life and stress management really helps!. Do the work and get yourself better along with the meds!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Did you know that going to a chiropractor helps with panic attacks!? I think doctors are over medicating us!. My family and I have recently been going to the chiropractor instead of a doctor!. Did you know that they are relatively natural healers!.!? Our chiropractor also is a kenisiologist and can pretty much heal things that no one even knows they can heal!. My daughter was to have a hysterectomy because of all the pain she has had in her ovaries!. She has been going to the chiro for a while and the pain is going away!. My grandson has Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrom and he has seen over 30 doctors and we decided to take him to the chiro and he is helping him also, especially with his bowel trouble and sleeping troubles!. I am sure that if you went to one they would be able to help you with your problems!. To me, medication is not the way, most of them have terrible side effects due to the toxins that are being put in them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I had a problem with sex drive also on Paxil and had some strange weight gain!. I tryed multiple medications over the years like zoloft, lexapro, effexor none of them worked as well as diet and exercise!. Mainly giving up the caffeine helped for me with the panic attacks!.

I can tell you from experience that Paxil is an awful drug!.!.!.!.I had to go off it b/c it was harming mine and my husband's relationship!.!.!.!.if you have to, talk to your doctor and explain to him what is going on!.!.!.!.they also make pills (GNC) for women with low sex drives!.!.!.!.!.I tried those when I was on Paxil!.!.!.but decided it was best to get off them (both)!. A loss of sex drive is very common with anti-depressants!. It's the same with Zoloft and Prozac!. You need to talk with your doctor about a suitable alternative!. Only the doctor will know what kind of medication might help you, but not inhibit your sex drive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

BUT I WAS FIRST PUT ON CITALOPRAM AND THEN MOVED TO MERTRAZAPHINE (TO HELP ME SLEEP) AND MY SEX DRIVE WENT RIIIIIGHT DOWN HILL
THEY HAVE A LOT OF DIFFERENT DRUGS AND THEY ALL WORK DIFFERENTLY ON DIFFERNT PEOPLE
IT SUCKS I KNOW
BUT IF IT IS SUCH A BIG PROBLEM YOU SHOULD GO BACK TO THE PERSON WHO PRESCRIBED YOU THESE DRUGS AND TELL THEM THAT THE SIDE-EFFECT IS TOO GREAT
NO DOUBT THEY WILL STICK YOU ON SOMETHING ELSE AND ASK YOU TO GIVE IT A TRIAL PERIOD OF ABOUT 3 MONTHS
BUT THERE IS NOT MUCH ELSE YOU CAN DO

hmmm i had the same thing happen to me when i was on xanix and my girlfriend takes both and says she is never in the mood for sex anymore!! i stopped taking because i can control myself a little better now but my drive is still not what it used to be!!

All SSRIs have the same effect on libido, although none are as strong as Paxil!. You could try benzodiazepines like lorazepam and alprazolam!.
