Does anyone have a fear of bees and wasps?!

Question: Does anyone have a fear of bees and wasps!?
When I was about 4 years old I developed a fear of flies and also bees and wasps!. It was terrible I would start screaming and running away so my parents had to use insect repellent but that didn't help much!. as I grew up the fear of flies went away I don't particularly like them but I can deal with them!. It is the bees and wasps that I have a major problem with as I keep on embarressing myself outside just now when I start running about and twitching when I think one is near me!. I was wondering if anyone else has this fear and what they do about it because it is a big problem!.

When I was 4 my sister told me if a bee/wasp stung me I would die instantly in a horrible horrible way!. Any wonder why even the slightest buzzing noise elicits screams and running today, at 19!?

I basically don't go outside during wasp season, and if I do I won't wear purfume or drink or eat anything sugary!. I just do my best to avoid them, and embarass myself when they do find me!. I have never been stung, but I am allergic to mosquito/fly bites, so I suspect I might be allergic to stings to, in which case, my sister's evil tale might well come true!

Its easy for people to say, oh, its only a little bug, or just ignore it and it'll go away, but it is almost impossible to stop the sound of buzzing striking fear to my heart!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I do, When I see a bee I just keep my distance!. when one comes close I run as fast as I can untill I get inside!. When I here a buzzing sound be a fly I flinch!. I would say about 2 yards distance!. also when you have to get close, you can say your allergic to bees, also remember they wont bother you If you dont bother them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my 10yr old on runs a mile every time he hears the buzz and I was the same as him as a child so its not uncommon!.No amount of reassurance works and I wouldn't know what to do except persevere and try not to worry about it!. Not a lot of help I know but your not unusual having this fear!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I love bees!. I think in a few years I'll trying raising a hive!. They'll leave you alone for the most part and make you honey!.

Wasps a little!. I kept stepping on them barefoot when I was a kid!. They are terrible stings!. I never got scared enough to wear shoes outside though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I run away from them, which seems to be hilarious to my friends and family near me!.

Flies scare me only if I mistake their buzzing for a bee!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

my friend has a huge fear of butterflies so dont feel badWww@Answer-Health@Com

My mum has a terrible fear of bees and wasps, a bit like elfish!. She once let go my brothers pram at the top of a hill because a bee flew nearby!. A man had to chase it before it ran on the road! She left me as a baby, screaming in my pram because I'd been stung!. Again a stranger had to pacify me!. Its a terrible fear that causes a mum to desert her babies! When she discovered a wasp nest in the house, she sat out in the garden in her nightclothes until the council arrived to remove it!. It is a huge problem for her, and nothing has helped!. Like Elfish, she doesn't wear perfume, hairspray, bright clothes, doesn't allow flowering plants in the garden (all evergreens!), keeps doors and windows closed at all times, etc!.

I don't think most people really understand what a real fear like this is like and also how debilitating it is!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
