Question: Your opinion on Attention Deffacit Disorder!? [ran out of characters, may sound confusing sorry]!?
I was recently diagnosed with A!.D!.D!. i always thought kids with add were obnoxious and stupid, but recently that all changed!. my grades were straight a's all the way up to 5th grade, were they became b's and c's and mayb d's and that went on until about mid freshman year, thats when it became constant d's and f's!. my parents thought i was lazy, and said i wasnt trying!. i started to believe what they said, and until about a month ago thats how its been!. i went to a shrink a few weeks ago and he described all the symptoms, i walked in there thinking i probably dont have add but i just want to try the medicine so i can do good at school, but everything he said related to me!. so i got the medicine, been taking it for 3 days, and even though its a low dose its amazing!. this is how i describe my add, forgetting tv shows 5 min after i watched them, mind wandering from thought to thought, cant finish tasks etc!.i want to know what you people who say add is fake think, explain your reasoning!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is a good question!. I think that ADD is a little different for everyone!. I dated a guy in high school who had ADD!. He was such a jerk!. We would beg him to take his meds, but he said they made him feel funny so he wouldn't take them!. He was such a sweetheart and so incredibly intelligent, but when he wasn't on his meds, he was scary!. I mean, physically, he left me with bruises!.

After I graduated from high school I was diagnosed with ADD!. I always thought it was so odd, because although I have a lot of the symptoms, like what you described- mind wandering from thought to though, forgetting tv shows five minutes after I watched them- those kinds of things, I did really well in school!. I always got good grades!. That could have been because I deliberately stayed away from the more difficult classes, but I'm still surprised that I did so well in school!. I would speed through my assignments, then my mind would wander for the rest of class!.

I am so glad that your medicine is working for you!. It never did a thing for me!. I remember that he told me never to take it before bed because it would keep me awake, so in college I would take it late at night so I could stay up and study!. I would be asleep in five minutes!. Meds never work on me the way they work on other people!.

As you can probably see from this, I'm still a little all over the place!. So, I'm glad that you have found something that works for you!!! I don't think that ADD is fake!. I think that there are people who use it as an excuse, and that's not right!. But it's a very real thing!. The people who say it's fake have never had to deal with it, personally!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ADD doesn't exist - except in the perscription-excuse book of the get-rich-quick quacks - and then in the minds of the poor misguided and abused patients who believe the total BS those wallet-raping quacks spew!.

It's a great excuse for many many things - including to be dependant on drugs and to lay-off blame of every shortcoming in life!.

It perpetuates mediocrity and instutionalized excuses therefore upon those who would rather have an excuse than an orgasm!.

That about cover it!?

Victim or Victor - you decide!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Good question!

I believe it's not fake, but that it's over-diagnosed and over-medicated!. Little kids on speed is a distressing thought for many people, and you'd think they'd come up with a non-amphetamine alternative!. Moreover, many of these children actually have other disorders (Asperger's, childhood bipolar, etc) that don't bode well with ADD medication or therapy!. That said, if you're high-school age and still having a difficult time concentrating and completing anything, it may be an apt diagnosis!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
