Well, I've been there and I understand!. The think the thing no one ever says about AA (Now you know this as well as so many other) is that it works for a very, very small number of people!. About 2 or 3 in a hundred will stay sober for a year!. Of course, 20 or 30 will SAY their sober, but they are not!. For profit treatment centers(no matter how much they cost) is only a little better!. The thing I could never stand about AA( which, in some divine way ended up helping me) was all the trolls!. I'm sure you know-lonely men and women(more women than men) that go to meetings and try to meet persons for their own selfish reasons!. Mostly financial of course-it drove me crazy to the point that I finally, finally saw people who were lower scum of the earth that I was!.
All I can really tell you is that you need to find that point of frustration-and remember how much better things can be because you have so many people(with the internet-I never had that) that you can talk to and never have to see or look at them and try to determine their(real) motivation!.
I never was in for all the old Bull-one day at a time-let go bla-bla-bla-don't get me wrong here AA has saved the lives of millions-it's just not for everyone!. And it's never going to work for everyone!.
My road off the juice was writing!.As It was also my road to the juice!. Instead of writing about other people I started using my self as a person in a story and that person was a lush and a sleaze!. Damn took me 20 years to find that out but I finally did!.
Anyway, it helped me, or I helped me is what really happened!.
The best advise I can give you-is to keep talking!. What I'm really trying to say is find that point of frustration(As I did) and always go back to that when you feel your worst!.
I'll talk to you forever about this if thats what it takes!. And no BS!.

Have you talked to your medical doctor!?!?!? There are mediation's that can be given to help with the cravings like the ones you use for people who want to stop smoking!. That and the combination of AA or a similar program might turn the tide for you!. You should also try to find someone who specializes in addiction therapy a psychiatrist who can help you at the same time prescribe the medications that you might need!.
If you're unemployed than you should be eligible for Medicaid
and you should go to your nearest city hospital and apply for both Medicaid and to find a doctor to help you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why have you given up on AA!.!.I think you let your disease get the better of you and you didn't give AA a chance!.!.I have been fighting addiction for many many years and all the rehab centers and detoxes all say the same thing AA!.You have to surrender to your disease!.Admitting you have a problem is the easy part surrending is the hard part!.Maybe you havn't hit bottom yet!.!.If your truly desparate and are willing to do anything to stay sober you'll get up and get your *** back to an AA meeting and raise your hand and get a sponsor home group and commitment get invoved!.!. Sobriety should be #1 in your life and not 2nd!.!.!. So plz if you are as desperate as you say go bck to a meeting and get the help you need!.!.!.There is no medication that can help you to stop drinking!.!.AA is the medication you need!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If AA doesn't work for you, try something else!. Rational Recovery, SOS, and other organizations might work for someone who can't get the AA program!. I have been an active member of AA for more than 20 years, and I have seen some people who just can't do AA for what ever reason!. Some of them have tried other support programs, psycologists or religious organizations and had great success!. Good for them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You find that help in a Rehab Center and @ your rock bottom!.

When you hit rock bottom then you will be willing to do anything!. Find strength in your family and in your higher power and go back to AA meetings!. If you had an encounter you weren't please with at one AA meeting, don't let it turn you off completely, go to a different one!.

AA Meetings are free, if you've given up on AA meetings then that sounds to me like you are saying you have given up on yourself, anyone can beat alcoholism if they believe they can!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Rational Recovery! Read the book Rational Recovery by Jack Trimpey!. It has everything you need to defeat alcohol addiction!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
