Anyway, i had a real tough time getting over the whole stage fright thing in college but this helped:

I would visualize myself standing in front of a crowd of people similar to the environment that i would be presenting in and stay calm!. I did that for a while until i became more and more confident!.

Then I left my comfort bubble and did things similar to group speaking that got me nervous!.!. and gained confidence through that!. ( speaking to strangers, asking questions at conferences/classes)

Once you calm down, you will see how ridiculous it is to be nervous!. Unless you need that nervous energy to run away from a prehistoric mammal, all of those chemicals that are released in your brain during times of anxiety don't really help!.

When i get nervous i just ask myself, " is this really helping me in anyway!?"

and if no then i try to calm myself with positive thinking and deep breathing!. Try doing things to get your mind off it, right before you go on!.

Another good exercise is to take an object, any object ( i like oranges b/c smell) and really try to describe it to yourself, the shade, the texture, the smell, the temperature and all other characteristics!. This will take your mind off the anxiety that comes w/ public speaking and once your are calm, you will be able to control your emotions better!.

Inmates can be really hard to work with!. Just try your best to come down to their level and see where they are coming from!. Just like you have to do with a child!. As far as the fear of speaking goes you probably have a small phobia about it and all you have to do is practice before each session and keep telling yourself that your fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Social anxiety is treated by taking Propranolol tablets about 1-2 hours before meeting or the speech, be sure to ask your doctor to give prescription of this beta blocker med!. used for blood pressure , but it helps a lot with social anxiety , and if you are asthmatic you can not take it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
