Is pill addiction that same as coke addiction?!

Question: Is pill addiction that same as coke addiction!?
I am a recovering pill addict and alcoholic!. Sometimes I feel that my adderall, hydrocodone and whatever pill it may be is not as bad as an addiction as others!.

I always think that because I am not shooting up it isn't as bad!. Am I right!? Am I "better" than other addicts!? Is this just the addiction talking and trying to hold me back!?

Having this opinion!.!.!. thinking I am njot a "good addict" makes me want to use even more!. I end up using just to ease the depression of feeling bad that I am not as deserving of help as coke and heroin addicts!.

Can anyone relate!?

**PLEASE post nice comments, because my recovery is serious and any bad comments will just make me want to useWww@Answer-Health@Com

I think you were dead on when you said it might just be the addiction talking!. When you look at addiction and what makes someone an addict- you see it isn't about which drug you use, how you used it, how much you used (though this may play a part in "becoming" an addict), etc!. What makes me an addict is the way I behaved and the "why" factor!. (why I used)!. It is the obsession and compulsion to use drugs when the signs are there that we can not do so successfully!. I think that just because I have not done something yet doesn't mean I can't!. When I got clean at first I'd never been an IV drug user and thought I'd never do that b/c I wasn't that kind of an addict- well let me tell you that Y!.E!.T!. means You're Eligible To- within 4 months of relapsing I was shooting up - now I know that I always was that kind of addict, my addiction just hadn't taken me that far!. Look at where it took you and decide if that's far enough!. Because addiction is progressive and fatal and just because you haven't done something yet doesn't mean you never will if you continue to use! If you have a desire to stop using then you deserve recovery!. Nobody is greater than or less than anyone else in recovery!. Everyone has a different bottom, be glad that you see the problem now, but always remember that You're Eligible To! Good luck in your recovery!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your addiction is better because you are not shooting it up (in my opinion), dont think its going to be easy to stop being an addict, because it will be EXTREMELY hard!.
You might even have withdrawls and start freaking out, this sounds to me like all side affects of recovery!.
Dont think you are "not as good an addict" talking like that WILL make you want to just do it again!.
Good luck! =DWww@Answer-Health@Com

I can totally relate!.

It's the addiction talking in my opinion!. I used to think the same way!. I thought it's not that big of a deal because it's not like its a street drug or anything!. And wouldn't ya know it now I'm doing those too!. I'm not going to go into details about me but trust me I getchya!.

They are the same thing!. They're both drugs!. Where they come from is irrelevant and you deserve just as much help as anyone else with a drug addiction!.

Good luck with your recovery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

An addiction is an addiction!. It doesn't matter what it is, it's all a horrible disease that can ruin people's life!. Popping pills is no better or worse that shooting up, smoking, or snorting the other drugs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not really!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no, not reallyWww@Answer-Health@Com

yesWww@Answer-Health@Com

psychologically yes,,, a rose is a rose!. addiction = addiction
Medically it works different on your system!.
Coke, H, narcotics like the hydrocodone each work differently on the body!.
I understand your thinking that because your not shooting up, you don't appear to be the stereotyped addict!.
Its like a lawyer, judge, doctor, being hooked on coke!. You would never think they would and you sure cant tell that they are, but its still an addiction!. Its still a problem!.
A person that drinks will think because they still have a job, a home and they are not living on the street, they are not alcoholics, but they are!.
There are many forms of addicts!. each one is different!.
I think you know deep, maybe deep deep, down that you have a problem and you don't really want to use!.
You have to change your habits!. When the urge strike you and you feel like you want to use, do something ANYTHING, take a shower, get on a bicycle, walk around the block!. Just have something to do!. The urge will pass
You are deserving!.!.!.!.!.!.!.have faith in yourself!.
get you a support group!.
Good luck to youWww@Answer-Health@Com
