You don't say how long your daughter has had her menses!. It's normal for things to be hell the first year that her body is adjusting to this!. So you might want to talk to her doctor about " regular medication to help with PMS!. Don't assume that she has the same thing as you, She MIGHT and she might NOT!. Let the doctor do the diagnosing!. IF you feel that her pediatrician can't handle it take her to the GYN but let them know what she's there for so they don't' scare her with a pelvic exam!. Our daughter's don't always have the same symptoms we have!. I've never gotten PMS but two of my three girls do!. So you need to make sure that she also has PMDD and she's kind of young to make that diagnosis!. Talk to your Gyn and see what they say, Than you can with the help of the doctor make an informed decision!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Trust me, she doesn't need any kind of medication!. I got my period 2 years ago, when I was 10, and I felt like that too!. My sister Athena just got hers (she's 10), and she's just like me!. and I know that this isn't a normal symptom of your period, it is PMDD!. Almost everyone in my family has it, so I think its completely normal!. I don't use anything and either does Athena, so I think your daughter should be just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Part of that might be learned behavior from what you experienced!.
I don't know what you should do beyond that, though it is possible a little hormone regulation could help, but who wants to put a girl that young on birth control!? I guess you will have to decide whether thats even an option for you and your daughter!.

Otherwise, my advice is to ask your pediatrician what they recommend!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would ask a Pharmacist about this!. Pharmacists have a wealth of knowledge and would give you a good list of meds to come home and look up and then you could decide which meds you do and don't like and could take her to the doctor with some meds in mind and could know which ones you are for/against already!.

www!.drugguide!.com is a great place to look up drugs and their side effects, the effect they have on the body, etc!.

I hope you find a med that can help her!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Please try a natural or nutritional route with her first!. Medications have so many side effects and long term use can create such problems!. She is still growing and developing, adding chemicals to that can really be a crap shoot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
