I have been taking it for a couple of years now, for stress related anxiety!. I was going through a very bad time!. It never gave me a buzz or anything like that, just helped get over the edge!. I feel great now, and instead of 4 times a day I only take it at night to take the edge off to make sure I sleep!. I also talked to a psychologist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Xanax is an effective anti-anxiety and sleep medication but it is not a long term solution to either of those problems as your body will become accustomed to it eventually, forming physical dependance as well as necessitating more xanax to achieve the same effects!. I was prescribed xanax by a very bad doctor who gave me much more than I needed for sleep problems, making me dependant physically though I never abused it!. More than two years later, I have a competent (and expensive) psychiatrist tapering me off of it!. At one point I attempted to taper and cease using it on my own, which resulted in three sleepless nights followed by a sudden seizure which landed me in the hospital!. If I had been properly treated in the first place, this never would have happened so no matter who your doctor is, insist that you take no more than a small amount for no more than a short time, there are other medications for both sleep and anxiety which are more effective in the long term as well as safer!. It also pays to mention that a friend of mine who saw the same crooked doctor is now nothing less than a xanax junkie, and another friend overdosed and died in his sleep at age 20!. Benzodiazepines (like xanax) are also one of the most common substances involved in both intentional and accidental overdoses as they heavily depress the central nervous system (slow your heart, breathing, etc!.)!. I don't want to scare you or beat this to death either but one final thing is to NEVER mix any amount of xanax or sleeping pill with any amount of alcohol, and please smack the people upside the head who suggest doing so, because there are idiots out there that will!. Xanax can do a lot of good, but it can do a lot of bad too, and I'm not a physician, I speak only from my experience and the experiences of others!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if your sleepy you should have the doseage lowered!.

xanax is great but dependence and a tolerance to the drug can develop!. take it only when you need to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
