Will I ever get over this?!

Question: Will I ever get over this!?
I have lost a great deal of weight in the last 14 or so months!. 135 pounds to be exact!. Now that I am at my goal weight--140 or so, why can't I get over this feeling that I am still fat!? THis awlful feeling that I will never be thin or healthy still haunts me!. I have successfully taken it off!. Why does this gut feeling continue to be apart of my life!? I don't want to forget about being fat because I believe to forget dooms me to repeat the cycle that got me fat in the first place but I would like to be able to enjoy being thin and healthy now!. Any thoughts!?!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Congratulations! I can relate, I lost 80 lbs in 14 months!. I weigh less now than I have since I was 17! At one point I weighed 285 lbs (in 1992) Lost weight dramatically because I went into a coma for a month, But between Summer 1992 and 2006 I stabilized at 230!. Now I am stable at 150 (I am 6' tall)!. I still feel fat, and when trying on new clothes, I seem to still lean towards larger sizes! Nothing fits anymore! A little over a year ago I was wearing a size 22/24, now 14/16!.
One thing I am keeping in mind is I don't want to ever weight that much again!
If you are healthy that is certainly something to be proud of and keep up the good work!. Unfortunately, I am not healthy and never will be!.
Just bear in mind that (I think) that the feeling you are still fat will eventually fade away!. But the memory may never fade!. And personally I don't want it to! I don't want to repeat the experience!

It sounds like what you thought was anxiety over being overweight was really anxiety about something else psychologically!. You seem to think you are unworthy to be happy!. I think the best thing would be to focus on other people and stop thinking about your own problems!. Do some charity work and lose yourself in service!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, bravo on the weight loss!.
Are you seeing a psychiatrist!? If you are, you may want to discuss this with them!. If not, please look into it!. That feeling is what turns some people into anorexics!. You do not want to go down that road, I have seen what it can do to you!. My neighbor is a recovering anorexic!.
Maybe going on a shopping spree will make you feel better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, congratulations on reaching your goal, and what an important investment in your health!

I like watching television shows like BBC America's "You Are What You Eat" and the U!. S!. "Biggest Loser" (though I dislike the name of that show)!. Both are good at acknowledging the other components of health and identity, you know, that in addition to our physical selves, we have emotional, sexual, occupational, personal, intellectual, etc!., spiritual components of our selves that are inter-related!. Though I don't know what methods you have used to reach your awesome goal, your question may also take focused attention!. I remember on this past season of Biggest Loser, after one of the guys reached under 200 pounds, he cried a lot and often!. It was strange to watch this strong, attractive guy be vulnerable, but he found that for years he had been using food as "protection" from his feelings, and now that the weight and overeating wasn't there, his emotions were expressed out in the open!. You may have a different situation, of course, but I hope the theme comes across okay to you!. The feeling will go away if you address it, just as you gave yourself time to lose the weight you wanted, it may take some time to resolve some of the emotional aspects!. Do you have a before and after photo of your experience!? That may be helpful as you reflect on your transformation!. Blessings to you and GREAT job!. I'll be thinking of you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do you have the vitality of body and mind to do all the things necessary to be completely glad with yourself!?

Your sense of well being is not predominantly related to weight; this only appears so as a symptom and not the root cause!. You have relieved the system of your body to a very great and commendable degree, and this can be very good, but you also must find out what it is that truly makes you happy!.

In essence all is good, especially those things cultivated in the natural world toward useful nourishment of life and body!.

If this good is not shared and lasting, even though you may take all the vital fruit of the earth for the body, and restore its health to that of ideal youth to outward seeming, then that inevitable end will always be an impossible barrier to lasting happiness being realized under all external conditions!.

Consider how the sickly and dying can be in perfect happiness because they love life!.!.!. death has no hold over them, neither does the challenges which once were pain, but ultimately served to bolster their own endurance of joy!.

May you find and enjoy this potential in yourself!.

God bless!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
