If you mean by 'getting over it' that they can once again be happy and confident in their lives and enjoy it to the fullest, then yes I definitely do!.
I was a victim of a rape that occurred 4 years ago when I was 18!. It took a lot of working through with counselors and a lot of love and support from my family and friends, but I have dealt with the past and I am moving forward in my life!. I am going to graduate college at the end of this month and I have been accepted to law school!. I date men and have lots of friends!. I have my self-esteem and happiness back!. I don't think you can what you call really get over it!. I think over time and with help you can learn to live with it, accept that it happened and have the feelings less intense!. But will always be there, one day you won't think about it as much, but you will always be aware of what happend!. The feelings do change with time !.Www@Answer-Health@Com
yes, i think it is possible to get over it!.!.my friend was raped by her father and she has no relationship with him and hates him but she has got over the fact that he raped her!!!.!.and never thinks about it!!!.!.and i was raped a yr ago and it comes to my mind once in a while but i don't let it bother me!!

You can work through being raped, yes, with help and support!. It isn't something you "get over" --- you either work through it and move on with the lessons you have learned from the experience!. You have to consciously choose to become stronger from the experience!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
it's not something you will "get over" but over time you begin to get more used to what has happened in your past and realize that there isn't anything you can do to change the past!. it can take years to recover from such a horrible thing though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
After some serious counselinga dn some time!. Some women need a long time to heal, some over 8 years and hopefully they do not rush into a relationship, but over time yes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
