Positive symptoms: delusions, hallucinations, paranoia!. I didn't see the whole movie so I can't tell you what his negative symptoms were, but common negative symptoms of schizophrenia are flat affect (not showing emotion)!. Here is a link for negative schizophrenia symptoms:

In terms of medication, many people who are schizophrenic don't function well without medication, but also those people don't feel like themselves when on medication, they lose some of their ability to function!.

A couple things I know about John Nash is that he stopped taking any kind of medications in the 1970's and they lied about this in the film!. He also has a criminal record including one arrest for having homosexual sex in a public bathroom and they left that out of the movie so he would seem more likable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
complete analysis did you watch the documentary with John Nash that I am sure is on the dvd (I bought the vhs tape when it came out and it is on it)!.
