There is something wrong with me help?!


Question: There is something wrong with me help!?
Since 5th grade (I am in 11th grade now) I have had a very powerful imagination but the problem is it has become almost uncontrollable!. Since the 10th grade i have been unconsciously falling into deep & powerful day dreams that my body would (unawaringly to me) twitch or suddenly move in response to the stimulation in my head!. My imagination had me dreaming all types of different worlds & creating storylines!. The pro of this was evident in my school work; i was able to come up with intelligent answers & construct captivating essays!. Kids in my class have noticed the blank look on my face during lessons & the unusual body jerking!. Resulting in me being watched by a number of wary kids during classes & others calling me a "freak" behind my back!. Can some1 please tell me whats wrong with me or direct me to a forum that specializes in disorders!? I'm left handed, good at drawing & love trance music as i find it euphoric!. This fantasy world iv create is addictive!. What is this disorder!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think you have any type of serious disorder so try not to worry about it!. The more you worry the more you will think about what you are doing!. It could be the this is an automatic response and action that your mind is telling your body to perform as you know people are watching you!. If you don't do this motion when you are alone then this is definitely the case!. It sounds to me like you are growing up and going through one of the odd phases in life that we have all gone through at some point (especially in our school years)!. You are NOT a freak and can control this!. It sounds like you need to relax more and maybe try concentrating on a project that will take your mind off what you are doing (and it is YOU that is doing this not your sub conscious)!. There is a syndrome called turrets which is a mental type of imbalance where a person performs certain acts i!.e!. verbal shouting or twitching to see how society reacts to it!. You do not have this and if you push it to the back of your mind and don't focus on what you now feel is 'an issue' or 'disorder' you will soon leave it in the past and not worry so much about it!. School can be hard and teenagers deal with it in different ways - you are not self harming which is a positive sign that you can get through this - 'this' I would diagnose as a 'habit', nothing more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I also used to stare into space and dream but I hated school unless it was art/music/sports
When i left school, it was a great relief and I stopped daydreaming!.
My essays/stories were always the best in the class and I was always the one to read my stories out to the other pupils!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

means you're bored and you arent interested in your surroundings, maybe do something about it in your spare time, express it and give it time to release that imagination of yours, if nothing comes up on that spare time, you are just bored and you dont want to be at school!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

people like you grow up to be geniuses!!!! im actually jelous!. i don't think there is anything wrong with you because it is more of a positive disorder if it was a disorder!. but if i were you i wouldnt want to get rid of it!.!. i mean wouldnt you miss it if u didnt have the day dreams anymore!!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Let me share some thoughts with you!.

I'm by no means an expert, however, the following info may be helpful!.!.!.

I meditate lots and have done so for the past 15 years!. As a meditator I'm quite familiar with the way the mind works and from what I understand you seem to be identifying a lot with your thoughts!. What I mean by that is that most of your awareness goes to your thoughts!. When you meditate you aim at being aware of the present moment, not your thoughts!.

I'm not suggesting that there is anything wrong with you, not at all!. However, balance is always good!. Why not try to learn meditation or relaxation!. You can download guided meditations online for free!. They are easy to follow and they will most probably put you in touch with your physical body in a healthy way!. When you live in your head you're not really in you body!.

The trance music also puts you in your head!. Keep dancing, but don't overdo it!
