Question: My friend is burning herself w/salt &ice!?
She also cuts!. She's 23 and has been hurting herself since she was 14!. Everyone knows!. We can't get her to stop!. We have tried everthing!. My question is can it do any harm!? This is how she does it!. She puts salt on her skin then ice&more salt on top of the ice!. She leaves it on her skin until it melts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Holy hell that would hurt!. The salt reacts with ice in an endothermic way!. It pulls heat away from your skin fast enough to give the feeling of being burned!. Kind of a mild form of frost bite!. It might look swollen or puffy!. I don't really know how to treat it!. Sorry!. She's going to have a nasty scar after it heals!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
